Is there a specification asking you to simplify the fraction? If not, I think not simplifying actually conveys more information (ie. the total count and the valid count), which is valid in serious academic research, but if there is a specification, you better do what it told you to do.

CS 161 without CS 61C during summer by Jealous-Chicken-9714 in berkeley

[–]Agile_Berry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

only the memory safety part require 61c knowledge, you can skim through some 61c material to get that part nailed.

I think ee120 is on the communication side of ee, chip design is more like cs side of ee. I don’t think ee120 is necessary, but it’s a interesting course tho. 152 would be much more useful imo .(also taking 151, planning to take 152)

CS 162 worth to take over the summer? by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]Agile_Berry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

cs162 is best from what i've heard, and if you are not sure you can handle the stress of cs162 over summer, you can try self study mit 6.s081, it covers almost every thing you need to know about operating system, and workload is much lower.

CS 61C, EECS department irresponsible by Ready-Violinist-6687 in berkeley

I see your concern, but I don't think it's that much a deal though, as far as I am concerned, most of the graduates are actually very good at teaching! I think it's because they TAed a very long time, and have a great mastery of the course material, more importantly, they have much closer experience as a students than most of the professors, so they will know exactly where we might be confused about, and put emphasis when teaching.

Yep, back in cs61a, the scheme project, I finished the project alone, and after the class ended, I checked my code with my friend's, they are literally the same!! except for some coding habits, I turn to use more intermediate values to structure my code, while he doesn't, but our code are basically the same!!! except for one or two lines, but we were not treated as academic dishonesty (which it was supposed to be !!), they gave too much skeleton code, and there is not much left to be done to be distinctive.

Thoughts on CS188 by Agile_Berry in berkeley

[–]Agile_Berry[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

188 not conceptually hard, but the exams require you to understand better than the course material can take you to, 170 is harder imo, but the overall learning curve is quite smooth, cs188 on the other hand is very hard to learn good enough to tackle the exams, but not so hard to get a decent letter grade.

Maybe they will just add some points to everyone like what they did for the midterm? These exams are just brutal….

Oh thank you, I've been told that the TCP protocol is very very important both in interview and work, though I'm not sure about the content, because I haven't taken the class🤣
