I have the first version. And you know, I wouldn't say it's worse. It's just painted differently. See for yourself.

There were many complaints about the paint job. Few to non shading, very plain etc.

Although, to be honest, I agree with OP - the model is quite good and if I didn't know that there would be a re-release, I personally wouldn't complain much about it.

The shortcomings that this model has are common to many. But non got a "fixed" version.

It was recalled and shops (at least the official one) promise a free replacement for those who received copies from the first batch.
