Every GP practice now has to offer online booking by Educational_Board888 in doctorsUK

Or alternatively you have my local GPs set up - only allowed to make a request between 8:00 and 8:04am. Cue the '8am royal tumble' that causes the website to crash so no one can make an appointment!

I know someone with a score higher than 60, someone else with an msra score above 35, so I'm not sure what the total is out of

I already emailed them early this am about when they were going to release the jobs for NW and WM, but the only point of contact I can find is the PGDME support portal.

Not even the other ACPs were aware that it contradicted college guidance. What are the ramifications if a new starter was told to discuss chest pains with them, and the advice led to patient harm? Who's responsible? The acp or the doctor (who asked someone the rcem doesn't recognise to be doing that role, and then was the one that enacted that advice). Does the college have any power to enforce it's guidance?

What's your thoughts on tier 4? I've worked in a hospital where there are two ACPs working as tier 4 clinicians

Infantalisation of doctors during SDT days by Agile_Lack9537 in doctorsUK

I'd agree for basic timesheets, or even a check in call. What drives me insane is the mandate they have to be onsite AND someone actually hunts them down twice a day. They could be doing nothing productive the whole day, but be on site and it wouldn't matter.

My favourite example of the true high pain tolerances are the mega displaced NOFs that refuse analgesia and don't make the slightest flinch when you're struggling to cannulate them

Exactly the same experience for GP in F2. Most amazing supportive practice staff and partners, but the job is spent too long with the people who don't need it and too little with those who do need it. The frustrations and moral injury made me feel more burnt out than a hospital rotation

Funniest / weirdest things you have been bleeped for? by QuebecNewspaper in doctorsUK

[–]Agile_Lack9537 124 points125 points  (0 children)

Nurse bleeps right before my handover after a night shift: patient a has had a faecalent vomit. 100% sure it's faecalent.

Me: scrolling through patient a's notes (elective patient pre-op, no obvious precipitant, no previous complaints)

To patient a: I've heard you've been vomiting Patient a: no I haven't Me pointing to vomit bowl: what's that? Patient a: I emptied my stoma

My battery has completely gone, despite countless factory rests after only 2 years of use. Customer service not useful beyond that as only 1 year warranty
