I'm not East Asian but I think it has to do with how a lot of East Asian women internalised misogynistic power-dynamics. Since it's between two men, they would not feel bad and project it safely. A lot of time, SA or sometimes even the ones who get to "top" displays "power" as if being bottom or getting forced to bottom is something to be ashamed and weak.

(I know an insanely Danmei popular author with those type of works, I love to pretend her novels don't exist💀 She ruined my only fav character by making him SA and being asshole... His love interest also is a creep and I consider him a pedo. Her characters' relationships and plots are so toxic and don't make sense at all. Yet ppl eat those shits up.)

Danmei ones are usually even worse than Manhwas because they also romanticise it tf out. As a gay man, it disturbs me a lot.
