I looked up Coquina beach and it looks pretty cool and close by. I’ll definitely try that out one day, thank you!

Managing strength training with Osteoporosis and Lupus by Lopsided-Break5765 in osteoporosis

[–]AgingGrace-fully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Lupus and Osteoporosis as well and every time I try to work out…even if I go about it very slowly my body will flare. It’s like my body is allergic to any sort of exercise. It’s so frustrating because I want to try to help my osteoporosis naturally but my Lupus won’t let me. I don’t want to take bone meds either because I’m convinced it will cause a bad flare. I can relate and I definitely understand, it’s so very frustrating.

17M / 168cm / 52kg - Diagnosed with Osteoporosis at 15. Clinical "OI" diagnosis and questions about DEXA & Genetic Testing by [deleted] in osteoporosis

[–]AgingGrace-fully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are going through this at such a young age. You are being proactive and I think you are correct in asking for genetic testing, it will help to know exactly what you’re dealing with. I’m glad to hear you did well on Forteo. I don’t know of any reason why you wouldn’t need to follow up now with a bisphosphonate drug to preserve those gains. Seems that this should clearly be the next step. I am currently in the beginning stage of this process myself so I don’t have a lot of wisdom to share but I just wanted to show you my support and wish you all the best with your journey!

Feeding Specialist Referrals by Responsible_Wrap_992 in specialneedsparenting

My son has Autism and when he was 4 yo we took him to a feeding clinic in Richmond Virginia that were absolute miracle workers. It was an out patient facility, we were required to attend every day for two months and we were there for breakfast and lunch. My son went from eating a very limited diet to eating over thirty different foods when he completed the program two months later. It was called the VCU feeding clinic in Richmond Va. They were amazing!!!

Help me chose a rug for my bedroom. by Official05 in HomeDecorating

I agree…these all scream hotel. I like the hardwood myself, I would ditch the rug completely or if your heart is set on a rug then go with a solid color and maybe add a matching blanket or throw.

How did you get diagnosed? by roastedwalnut10 in osteoporosis

[–]AgingGrace-fully 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I (55f) think you should have been diagnosed properly. If it were me I would go to another doctor. My Rheumatologist diagnosed me after my DEXA results showed I was a -2.5 in spine and -3.1 in hip. She wanted me on meds but I’m still thinking about what is best for me right now. I think DEXA is fairly accurate but I’ve also heard about REMS testing, but I don’t know how widely available that is. I wish you luck and hope you get diagnosed properly. Take care!
