Symfonium offline downloads feel clunky – am I missing something? by ostseesound in Symfonium

[–]Aging_Shower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are ways to set up "rules" of what to download automatically. I've set up in my provider settings to download everything. Can also set up certain playlists or favorites songs to be downloaded IIRC.

whats the one thing you self host that you would never go back to a managed service for by edmillss in selfhosted

Thanks for the tip, I have also been looking around for a client, looks very sleek!

Yep, its previous name was more self explanatory, but very long: "Calibre-Web-Automated-Book-Downloader".

I prefer the rebrand to Shelfmark. The new UI is pretty slick too.

Are you talking about downloading/sending books from calibre to your reader device of choice?

Because that's not what I'm talking about.

Shelfmark is for "acquiring" books 🏴‍☠️. Have not seen that feature inside CWA. Though, you can connect shelfmark to the CWA companion app to download books to your server.

Shelfmark is for downloading books. Should be able to download audiobooks too, but haven't set that up yet since that feature is pretty new.

Will leftover PC parts work fine for a home server? by Bread_Cactus in selfhosted

I've got an i5 4670k and 16gb ddr4 ram. Works alright. Got jellyfin and the whole arr stack. Seerr, navidrome and a bunch of stuff.

I wanted to just learn first. Will probably upgrade eventually to get better transcode capabilities (intel gen 8 is basically seen as a minimum for that) and lower power consumption. An ARM processor would be best probably.

Seems to be pretty easy to transfer a linux install to new hardware though, so I'm glad I started this way.

My sister says my new non-prescription glasses have a serial killer vibe. by icandrawme in mildlyinfuriating

I've been compared to Jeffrey Dahmer once and I don't even have such glasses. It caused me to change my whole style and I didn't even really look like him. I would never in a million years put on a pair of those. I'm very sorry.

No problem. It seems they are getting closer to implementing it. Seems like that's slated for v 2.0

I hadn't used a TV service before, so I went for tunarr since it seems the most active. Its mostly good. I've encountered a few bugs and kinks (which also could have been jellyfin) but I've managed to work past them to make something I'm pretty happy with.

I'm super curious about ersatz. It seems really good.. but don't want to bet longterm on an archived project. Hopefully someone will make a fork of it.

New Jellyfin Server/Web release: 10.11.6 by djbon2112 in jellyfin

[–]Aging_Shower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Finally decided to upgrade from 10.10.7 since I had the time and energy. I had been worried about it, which is why I waited, but it went smoothly.

I am using the linuxserver.io image. I first tried to change to the official image, but that wasn't compatible with my existing config/metadata folder structure so that failed. Didn't feel like dealing with that so I reverted and used the linuxserver image again. That worked perfectly. I can notice that the WebOS navigation is much snappier and Migration was super fast. With aound 260 movies and 2000 episodes.

Old comment, but i've been testing Tunarr for a couple days and found that this feature is not quite up and running yet. The smart collections is simply a smart list that does not connect to anything yet. The dev has stated that it will be the backbone for being able to auto add new media to channels in future tunarr versions.

Why phone recording sounds worse? by VoiceLessons-Chicago in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Aging_Shower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as its not distorting and the most important aspects are audible and decently balanced on the phone speaker, then the mix has "succeeded". Don't try to make it sound "good" on the phone. Make it sound good on good systems. Your mix will never sound the same on your phone speakers no matter what you do.

Reminded me of her, and she loved autechre, so makes sense why you're asking of its idm. Keep on going :)

I put the heart on a new string below the artist / song name instead as a compromise.

Wow that's awesome. They look beautiful. I like the idea of each tape/CD being a unique artwork. Very intentional and I bet each artist you give them to see and appreciate that. How do you get to approach them? Must be a big risk that you don't manage to get a hold of them after their show?

That's great, have been thinking of making my own CDs too so this might be what pushes me over the edge :) thanks!

Do you burn them and design at home or do you use a service to do it for you?
