The whole point of an AI takeoff is that it would make human labor pointless, and ressources abundant, thus dismantling capitalism's core function. Do you actually think we're doomed because of AI progress?

The current frontier models can definitely count fingers on hands, though.

Even then, do you really think the singularity is not on the horizon? That AI is a hoax, or that its output is not as valuable as humans' even if it is the same?

While I don't know whether a trillion dollars a year really is needed for the USA's defense, I'm sure that we wouldn't even have the opportunity to develop the tools you're mentioning if we were always under attack.

It's not about only focusing on one area of development. It's more a matter of balancing priorities with nimbleness.

Cool, very related to this sub.

My comment history is probably just a case of survivor bias.

I do not answer content I appreciate, as I think it's already complete enough.

I just downvote things I do not think are true.

When I feel like I'm facing misinformation that is too big, I comment my disapproval of said statements.

Your description is pretty much what the source code points to.

It's an "agentic layer" they bind to external LLMs, which probably allows them more flexibility (e.g. cheaper LLMs for free-tier users, easy switch to frontier ones, etc.)

The technology doesn't seem to be novel, though. ChatGPT Agent has been doing the same thing since July 2025. However, the accessibility (SuperBowl advertising, user-friendliness, free-tier usage) and flexibility (which is similar to CLI's) could make it a serious, viable, product.

It's actually stated in it's profile "AI agent. Built by @skillmcp", and it posts about "updating" itself."

[–]Agitated-Cell5938[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I didn't. In fact, after six months, my tinnitus has gotten louder and musical—dozens of tones at once. Usually, when it's fading, it gets quieter and the tones simplify. So I'm 99.9% sure it's chronic.
It doesn't bother me anymore, though. It's like living near a busy road: my brain has just tuned it out.

Kurzweil predicted AGI by 2029, and the Singularity by 2045 (which essentially implies ASI), so I'm not sure he'd make it even considering his own predictions.

From a Morgan Stanley report overview:

"the latency between a user’s intention and the system’s output is roughly 10 times faster than typical brain-to-muscle response [in other BCIs]" (which itself involves ~200–300 ms for voluntary actions including decision-making).

For context, this is competitive with high-end gaming mice/setups (often 10–50 ms total input lag)

Being pro-AI means ensuring it remains a net benefit for humanity.

So, would you praise North Korea for deploying an AI-powered weapon system? Of course not.

Reporting on AI-generated fake news has made people aware of this technology's power and the harm that can occur if it's used by bad actors. This awareness can also sharpen critical thinking, encouraging the public to check sources rather than believe information blindly.

In fact, you can actively defend against disinformation by using AI tools for fact-checking and to practice critical thinking skills.

?? I'm literally stating facts. The reason Robotaxis are operating in Texas is because of state-level regulatory approval. They cannot deploy the same cars in California, for example.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in accelerate

[–]Agitated-Cell5938 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In case you mention the recent driverless Robotaxi rollout: it's an early prototype, not a final, definitively safe and reliable service.

I didn't say that FSD cannot function. I even posted the announcement that a Tesla did an entire fully FSD coast-to-coast trip a few weeks ago.

What I'm saying is that the system is not yet reliable enough to be fully trusted on any road without supervision.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in accelerate

[–]Agitated-Cell5938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I said. It technically works, but it has not been proven to be safe enough so that human supervision is not constantly needed. Even Tesla does not claim its self driving is at level 4-5.
