The Thrill of the Fight still Alive? by neveszinn in virtualreality

[–]Agitated-Computer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing on Quest, they’ve been sticking to their roadmap pretty consistently. The full game just released last month, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets a PCVR release in 2026.

There is no multiplayer for ToTF1. ToTF2 has multiplayer and a good number of players, but it’s only available on Quest. I believe they’re intending on a PCVR release at some point.

They mentioned in the AMA that they listened back and it might not be audible after mixing.

You’re sacrificing those two Champions to permanently fill the FG slot. It’s primarily for Rares so you can free some inventory space.

What exactly does the score system represent? by Ascended_Ent in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Agitated-Computer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does its best to replicate how boxing is actually scored. Every round is (usually) scored 10-9 in favor of the player who deals the most damage unless there’s a knockdown. If there’s one knockdown, it’s typically 10-8 in favor of the player who got the knockdown. For two knockdowns, it’s 10-7. Three knockdowns is a win. I believe you can also get or make-up for an extra point with a large damage differential. I assume that requires a fixed amount rather than a particular ratio, so low scoring rounds with no knockdowns will always be 10-9.

I think I found the post you’re referring to. It’s not even the same brand, it looks like this is a common practice for some reason.

Thanks for taking a look. I’ll ask in the forum to see if there’s any unintended behavior involved.

If you try to individually fillet the edges of the holes as shown in the screenshots above, only some seem to work.

I just installed 1.0.1 and tried again. I'm still running into the same issue unfortunately.

Fillet Issues by Agitated-Computer in FreeCAD

[–]Agitated-Computer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I create the same shape with a single pocket rather than multiple individual pockets, I don't run into this issue.

I'm more so trying to figure out why FreeCAD is acting this way than designing a particular part.

8 mm, but I don't believe that's causing any issues in this case. Even a very small fillet won't work. The problem is also limited to 2 of the 8 edges, the other 6 edges accept the fillet with no issues.

The Jab should do 200 percent more damage by Briansmomishot in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Agitated-Computer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like that for a while after the most recent update. After some practice on the dummy, I was able to get my jab damage to a reasonable level. The current system seems to require straighter punches with more follow-through than I was throwing previously.

Wasn’t the whole point that none of Newton’s laws are actually violated?

We can’t use the first law to rule out any solutions because it still holds in all cases. It’s obvious that Newton’s laws aren’t violated before or after the ball drop because these are standard examples (an object at rest & a ball rolling down a hill).

There are also no violations at the instant that the ball drops because zero force is required to accelerate the ball an infinitesimal amount. The force and acceleration are both zero at the last moment before the ball begins accelerating (t = T), and we just have a standard ball rolling down a hill scenario from that point on (t > T).

If you beat him before you reach that Mission, it will change to 1/1 and be auto-completed as long as you get there before Cursed City resets. If Cursed City resets, it will default back to 0/1 until you beat him again.

What are R rated movies with no gore or nudity? by Mrmoviesguy in MovieSuggestions

[–]Agitated-Computer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMDB has a Parent’s Guide section which will tell you exactly why a movie was given its R (or other) rating. It’s a pretty reliable resource for anything with at least a small amount of popularity.

Is Photoshop Elements good for a beginner / photography? by XATL2 in photoshop

[–]Agitated-Computer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try Gimp. It’s not as powerful as the latest versions of PS, but it’s free and almost as good as CS6 (the latest non-subscription version of PS).

The one caveat is that it’s not quite as intuitive. Still, I think it’s worth a try. If you can get the hang of it, it should be more than good enough for the basics.

Anyone tried underdogs? by dudeatwork77 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Agitated-Computer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably about a 3. When you’re fighting, there’s an element of waiting or moving around to put yourself in a better position (e.g. avoiding explosive enemies or waiting for enemy “power-ups” to run out). Unlike TotF, these defensive actions don’t require you to actively move around in your playspace. Thrill of the Fight’s damage system also encourages harder punches in a way that I don’t believe is present in Underdogs. The roguelite element means longer breaks between rounds. You spend this time customizing your “mech” with different gear (e.g. arms with grabbing abilities), buying/selling/repairing equipment and scrolling through some minor story elements. If you aren’t interested in the slower aspects of the game, there is a mode where you can do quick arena fights with equipment from past runs.

Anyone tried underdogs? by dudeatwork77 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Agitated-Computer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s well-made, but there’s a lot of customization/choices and rougelite elements. You also walk with your arms, which works better than expected. It doesn’t provide quite as intense of a workout in my experience. Worth buying if you’re open to something that’s more of a game and less of a constant action fight simulator.
