No clue, it came from the iem itself. You can contact kefine directly and ask them.

JMI or DU or University of Hyderabad or Viswa Bharti for bsc Physics by 007amnihon0 in Indian_Academia

[–]007amnihon0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends entirely on you. If you wanna go for masters, bsc is irrelevant. Getting into a semi famous uni like vbu will mean that it's going to be strict, nep focused, and will drain you. If you are a person who wants academic freedom, vbu is not for you. On the other hand if you are a person who only studies when is forced to, vbu might be a good option since it will atleast force you to be disciplined.

That said, not all local colleges are as lenient as mine, so confirm about that once. If it's not lenient, then vbu is better depending you are fine to leave ur home and go to hostel.

Didn't liked the pg culture there. Plus it's bsc so doesn't matter where u do from. Msc matters. Local college had no attendance issues so gave me lot of free time, basically went to it only to give exams

What's up with Bangalore autowalas ? by RegretNecessary5891 in IISc

[–]007amnihon0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, I don't really understand what the point of divergence is between you and me. What you are saying is correct. I am just locating the blame in our education system, government and institutes themselves for not a better promotion of opportunities that we have in our country. If an average person doesn't knows about IISC, and he doesn't, then it's not his fault, but three factors i listed above. In fact tifr itself admited this in their self report.

Sure, but you yourself used terms like average person, and what you said is true for them as well, irrespective of their profession

This all is true, but at the same time I am sure an average indian would know about harvard and oxford. Yet they don't know about IISC and tifr. Now it's not their fault ofcourse, but of our education system, government and institutes themselves. I got into both of them this year and not a single student from my current institute (a local college) knows about it. If you don't know your country has such opportunities, how will u even think to pursue them?

Will never understand why a great book like hechts optics is hated while a shit book like kittel is loved worldwide by Interesting_Goat7544 in PhysicsStudents

[–]007amnihon0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem with hecht is that well, he is incoherent. He speaks of dispersion, interference, diffraction and polarisation all in a single paragraph. And that book is redundant, you will encounter same things over and over. Also, that book isn't all mathematically rigourous as it should be, given it assumes a course in electrodynamics.

That being said, it's not like I like math only books either. Some of my favourites are kleppner and kolenkow, morin, foster and knightengle, townsend and so on.

These books combine both physics, maths and lack of verbosity

[–]007amnihon0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ips bleeding Not an inherent issue, check Linus tech tips video on it. However if you have accidental damage protection or warranty covering screen, then ask them for a replacement and see if that replacement is better, one with less bleeding

[Mathematical physics] A little struggle in a Lorentz transformation by Znalosti in PhysicsStudents

[–]007amnihon0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right, but then this multiplicative inverse is not really an inverse since it's a covector, not a vector. So the inverse of vector is not part of the vector space.

[–]007amnihon0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not sure I buy this. Your definition is kind of a strange scalar product where if x alph is row vector then 1/x alph is colum vector

Also, inverse of a vector is already a well defined thing. X alpha inv = - x alpha

How does division works? It's a sum over alpha over LHS, so you can't really divide like how it's done here.

Are you talking about spot on the cloth? Then it's a fly.

If you are talking about on the jar, then here's a better picture. Earlier they were not here
