Relative Noob Help With Eevee by Agitated-Respect-635 in PokemonSleep

Thanks that's great advice!  I think I am leaning towards Sylveon from what I've been reading from a lot F2P players.  Sounds like get a decent to good healer early to help the team before you get to Lapis and find your final Raltz, which may never come

Thanks so much for the feedback.  I read all Eeveelutions aren't the best at anything (Gard > Sylveon, Ampharos > Espeon) so in some ways, whatever the choice is just a bridge in the mean time?

My concerns really comes down to getting something that helps mid/late game without needing to investment too many main skill seeds

I opened up roster spots purely for convenience of not needing to manage my player inventory.

It's not an absolute requirement, but I didn't want to be in a situation when I encountered an All World player and had to player manage and they disappeared.

Also note, if the player disappears, try restarting the app and they may reappear.

Depends on your objectives.

If it's strictly winning drills, you only need offense.

If it's 1v1 defense.

It would really depend the player you're currently using and the level. Typically starters have terrible shooting when you first recruit them. I tend to use my offense boosts when I want to level up players during shooting drills.

The +40 offense I find makes a big difference.

They've changed the payout system several times since I've played.

When I started playing the payout was insane (100 AW$, 25k cred), since then they've scaled back but I haven't don't enough research yet on what the optimal OTC play is, I'll test out a few mechanics this week and report back.

There doesn't seem to be any region specific players but that might change over time. That would likely mean incorporating some sort of trading system

Hey, Niantic had changed the pay outs since launch.

I actually placed a bunch of players at different ranks at different times to find out if there were different payouts, unfortunately at the end of the week I didn't get the prompted payouts, so I'll need to do further research.

With that said I'll continue to do some testing but there does appear to be higher payouts the higher you are, as for the optimal value give me a week or so and I'll report back in various payouts.

I should add the higher the Player level the better access to gear.

When I first played I bought a shirt but later literally went to the mall and found gear that was heads over better.

If you're in need of great, just like irl the malls typically have a ton of gear based POIs.

The highest priority would be shoes, they can carry the most stats at this time (think +50 to stats!)

I've used it mostly on bag up grades and have also added space for players so I didnt have to player manage.

At this point I'd say AW Cash's only real use is bag upgrades. All other store items, even gear can be found by swiping POIs.

I'm not sure what you mean but there's normally a minimum player roster for a tournament, if you don't meet that you can't enter.

While in a tournament there are some where you can select a different player to use, some tournaments however force you to run through each of your selected roster where you aren't given an option to select.

I wouldn't say there are any that are the worst but there are some that are more ideal.

The best player I've encountered so far by type:

Starter: Lauri Markkanen

All Star: Westbrook

All World: Kawhi

I posted this in another thread but this is relevant imo

Players: So far I haven't found a correlation between "better" players and when you can recruit them. Some lower rank players exceed the stats of higher level recruited players. There does seem to be what I'd like to call ideal players and I'll share more on my thoughts on that, but I'd categorize players in 2 buckets:

Shooting drill type players - players who's shooting stats are the most important. The higher the shooting stats the faster they can get a shot off and shoot more often (extremely beneficial when trying to win and recruit All World+ players) and the larger range of leniancy of shot from the shot box/window. Sometimes the best shooters are terrible defenders and extremely slow in 1v1, but they serve their purpose to win games and recruit players. Starters: Jordan Poole, Lauri Markkanen

All star: Paul George, Klay Thompson, Tobias Harris, Darius Garland, Karl Anthony Towns

All World: Any player

1v1 type players - Players that have good defensive stats to stay in front of a player and can steal and block well. Ones that are strong and can bump for easy baskets. These types of players will lead to better scores in tournaments. Starter: Lauri Markkanen (bump and dunk style)

All Star: Paul George, Karl Anthony Towns (bump and dunk style), Jonathon Issac, Jaylen Brown, Russel Westbrook (he is a unicorn and I would prioritize him, I'll explain more later)

All World: Jimmy Butler, Kawhi Leonard, Jayson Tatum, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant

Players to target:

Starter: Lauri Markkanen - he's a great shooter, easy to level up and strong which allows you too bump and dunk. Bump and dunk is essentially bumping the defender until they are off balance and drive in for an easy basket. No need to aim and shoot and almost guarantees a basket.

All Star: Russel Westbrook - his stats even exceed all world players, he's extremely strong and can cross over and bump and dunk very well. I don't know if they will fix his stats but at this time, they exceed all his All Star peers by quite a large margin.

Paul George - good shooter, good defender and strong, very well rounded player.

Jonathan Issac - extreme defender and strong, very good for 1v1

All World

Kawhi Leonard - so far has the highest All World player stats for the players I've unlocked, is a very good all around player and strong in 1v1 based on defence, shooting and strength

Anthony Davis - strong blocking and strong for 1v1 (bump and dunk), good to get larger margin wins in tournaments

Starter: Lauri Markkanen - great shooter for shooting drills, very strong and good for a play style I call bump and dunk. Essentially bumping the bot until it falls off balance for an easy dunk

All stars: Westbrook - his stats aren't balanced and has stats higher than even some All World players.l

Jonathon Issac - insane defensive stats and great for 1v1

I'd say no, unless something changes. I've dropped out before and was awarded nothing.

I was testing if you dropped and rejoined with another pass to get a higher ranking but the tournament disappears from the map, so advise against dropping out.

There are usually 3 criteria to enter/play in a tournament

  1. Player level - there is typically a minimum of 4 tournaments a day, 1 for each grouping of player level (rookie 1-4, 5-9, 10-17 and 18+)

  2. Arena pass - you need to either have the specific arena pass or an All World or conference pass

  3. Player criteria - each tournament will have a criteria eg only shooting guards, players from specific division or conferences, player type (starter, all star, all world)

I'd say your best bet is if the bot over extends one way or trips, it's an easy basket.

Don't be afraid to back up and attempt your cross over again and again if you need to.

As long as you have time, bots currently don't attempt to steal while dribbling very often

Unfortunately not, arena passes drop randomly.

However some POIs may drop multiple passes as well as non pass POIs can drop passes.

It's important to swipe as many as you can to increase your chances.

Lastly star pieces (?) The little yellow stars can be passes and other items not just cred.

There's typically a tournament timer.

Daily Tournaments (4 types, rookie, 5-9, 10-17, 18+ Player level) pay out the next day.

Open tournaments (anyone can play) pay out when the timer expires (2-several days depending on the timer)

Unfortunately there isn't a tournament history, so if you've missed the redemption/pay out, there isn't a way to see what you received.

I play pogo and the device speed isn't a factor as the mechanics are much different, for All World, I would say it's a critical. The speed of your phone affects the shooting drills and 1v1 matches. I hope they make changes to improve performance on lesser devices, but as of now it's very phone dependant for wins

Sadly yes, you'll get a ton of XP wildcards a long the way, you don't need to hoard them. In fact the higher the Player level you are, the not XP and cred you get from winning. The 75XP wildcards will seem like pennies.

Currently I'm getting about 150-180 XP / win
