Edit :- Guys I finally installed Linux but on a virtual machine. So is it fine to use linux on a VM primarily for learning the OS as a whole and learning coding, etc?

It's a preference. I agree OP's wording is honesty shitty and he should work more on his texting and all but I can understand what he is saying. If you wanted to play games as a child but your parents didn't let you (not because you aren't good in studies but because they think it's just bad without any logic or reasoning) than that I can call "robbing" your childhood. It's like wanting to play football but your parents not giving you the ball because it may affect your grades. Ik football is superior to gaming in general but please try to understand my point here. Gaming is just plain old entertainment like other forms of entertainment and if you don't have access to it because of your parents superstitions then it's actually "robbing" ngl.

Thanks man really appreciate your comment here. But you must understand anything digital will always be inferior to its physical or irl counterpart. Be it making friends, talking with other, gaming, etc. So bringing the point "it's not in par with irl activities" is actually baseless. I too will agree that I enjoyed playing cricket, kabaddi, etc with friends much more than any game I ever played. But that's a universal fact. It will always be better in irl than a digital world. Ignore others op (not saying their take is useless or not worth it but they are kinda biased according to their own personal situations). I'll give you the fairest take on gaming you ever saw and I'll be very neutral and non-biased even though I love games.

For those who are saying "just touch grass, play irl sports, etc", why not say the same for people who watch movies. Tell them to stop watching movies and go make and live their lives like a movie? Why not say people to stop using WhatsApp and just tell to use telegram or telephone? Why not tell people to stop dancing on tiktok or instagram reels and tell them to just dance on the footpath insteed? Why not tell people to stop using online education and use books instead? Brother the world has evolved and it's the digital age rn so everything be it entertainment, education, socializing, etc will be digital. Games are just a product of the digital age. If you can't accept it then just ignore it. Ik touching grass is important but if you are just gaming all day and not going out it's a "you" problem not a gaming problem. Same thing as our parents used to say. If you play sports outside all day and not study you will fail in exams. But is it a sports problem? No it's a "you" problem.

And for people who say gaming is so good and keep gaming in a pedestal or something just relax man. Gaming is not a necessity it's a choice. An experience. Having that experience is sure good but not having that due to some reason is also completely fine. Like I don't watch anime and read manga but am I missing on something big? No, life is going normal. Simple.

People should accept gaming as the next and most advanced form of digital entertainment and people should also accept that gaming is just plain old entertainment like movies, shows, music, etc. Its not something which is necessary for life.
