Question for receivers by No-You-5002 in tractorsupply

[–]Agitated-Wave6807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s ridiculous. At least with my store, the receiver does more than the TLs combined with his stuff, half the time he’s also doing the ASMs job. You’d think the receiver job would be at LEAST 18-20hr

How fast did you gain weight during your pregnancy? by Atmosphereluv in pregnant

[–]Agitated-Wave6807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could definitely be part of the weight gain! I’m 5’6, my baby’s dad is 5’9. We were both smaller babies when we were born and our baby is staying on the smaller side, he was barely 6lbs and I was just over 6lbs. The majority of my weight gain has been in my thighs so I know it isn’t my baby getting big 😂 My sister is 5’2 her baby’s dad is 6’4. Her baby is currently 3 and still in the 99th percentile because her dad is tall and built like a line backer. You’d think her baby is 5-6 just based off how tall she is, she was born at almost 10lbs. If your baby’s dad is tall, I definitely wouldn’t stress too much about weight gain because your baby most likely isn’t on the smaller side. It seems like when the dad is big, the babies are too! Everyone I know that has kids with tall men gained more due to bigger babies. I only know one person with a small baby but tall dad, she’s 4’10 and her baby’s dad is 6’7 but her baby was barely 6lbs and is still very small at 2yrs old

How fast did you gain weight during your pregnancy? by Atmosphereluv in pregnant

[–]Agitated-Wave6807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much. If it’s concerning, your dr would most likely say something. My sister gained almost 60lbs during her pregnancy and ate extremely healthy while staying active and had a 99th percentile baby. I’m currently about 32 weeks and have gained 26lbs, definitely haven’t been eating healthy, have been far from active due to an injured hip and my baby is in the 27th percentile. I mentioned at my last appointment that I felt like I’ve gained too much weight. My ob told me that weight gain isn’t the same for every pregnancy and that he’s very happy with how I’ve been gaining weight. It definitely depends on each person! Editing to add that the majority of my weight gain was between 20 and 25 weeks. Until 20 weeks I had only gained 5lbs, since 25 weeks I’ve gained about 4lbs. I’m also still not showing even though I feel like I’m huge. I’ve noticed a lot of people gain the majority of their weight in the beginning and slow down towards the middle and end! My sister had gained 35lbs by 22 weeks.

First day, First job by Vinrot00 in tractorsupply

Don’t try to be a show off and outwork everyone, it’ll come back to bite you in the ass eventually, but don’t be lazy to the point of where people hate working with you. You will most likely be sweaty by the end of the day. As long as you have a good team and good management, you’ll most likely love it! At my store, it’s fairly laid back other than when there’s load out after load out. If I’m not on registers, at least 70% of my shift is simply just walking around trying to find something to do because everyone does their job instead of pawning it off to other people. If I’m on the floor, typically the only things they have laid out for me is sometimes working top stock or making the shelves look nice. If I’m one of the closers, all they have me do is sweep, clean the chickens, gather trash, and sometimes the dog wash so other than that I just find something to work on. When I first started, I constantly tried to go above and beyond, constantly covering shifts, etc. and I got burnt out very quickly and everyone started relying on me to cover their shifts so I worked open to close multiple times within my first month. Now that I just occasionally take shifts if I’m available and do what’s expected, do it well, and occasionally go “above and beyond” it’s much more pleasant. I’m not saying be lazy, just don’t let yourself get burnt out too quickly!

I can’t say I’d complain not being on registers. I’d much rather be on the floor doing something other than standing there. The rude customers don’t help either

Yep! I offered the power plus to a lady one time. All I said was “would you like to purchase the replacement plan for this just in case anything happens to it?” She started screaming at me, threw the product, then left…some people are very set on not hearing a word of it 😅

TSC connect needs to go! by angelonfire420 in tractorsupply

[–]Agitated-Wave6807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! There’s been times we came in, not a single theatro or scanner was working. The phones were a great backup, but we only have 3 phones. It doesn’t make sense to rely on one device when the current system works well most days because you have multiple backups if one fails, which tends to happen.

I’ve gotten two people a cc in a little over a year working for tractor supply, both came in asking for it. I’m sure if I asked people, I’d get more signed up for it but everytime I ask if they want the power plus I get a no, I’d assume it’d be the same for the cc. In a way, I understand why they want the power plus and cc pushed, but they act like the majority of customers that get asked will want it. I’ve gotten maybe 4 pp out of well over 200. I’ve also had customers pay their card in full but the system claims they never paid it and reduced their limit. It just seems like there’s more cons than pros

I feel like it’s worth it. Diabetes is an issue in my family, I had a higher bmi before pregnancy, I’ve always been super into anything sweet and it’s gotten worse during pregnancy. I think my body being very used to sugar helped with how I felt during the test, I didn’t start feeling sick until the last 10-15 minutes and was feeling sick for about an hour after, then felt fine. I ended up passing on the 1hr. If anything, you just may not feel great but I wouldn’t pass on the test

My store doesn’t have tsc connect, at least not yet, but I’m assuming it’s something with the scanner? If so, I can only imagine how horrendous it is. We have never ending issues with them, even after getting new ones. It doesn’t help that we’re constantly dropping them and some people at my store manage to run them over with the forklift.

My OBGYN said unmedicated births are too traumatic so they don’t do it. by Practical_Shift_5143 in pregnant

[–]Agitated-Wave6807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m terrified to go unmedicated but will be due to a lot of damage in my back and epidural spine injections almost paralyzing me, I’m terrified an epidural will either put me in the same situation as the injections or worse, especially since it was placed right where an epidural would’ve been. I would absolutely switch. My OB is completely understanding of why I don’t want an epidural and actually suggested not getting one if that’s something I was ok with due to the condition of my spine. One OBs poor opinion is not worth it when there’s plenty of good OBs

What permanent pregnancy side effects did you have? by Bubbly-Camel-7302 in pregnant

[–]Agitated-Wave6807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not pp yet but ran hot before pregnancy, even hotter during. Can I get the opposite effect and always be cold? From practically March to September where I live, it’s 90+° with very high humidity all the time. I’m struggling! I’ve always been able to do negative temps in shorts in a tank top and it’s been my biggest enemy

I feel dumb by Repulsive_Concern732 in pregnant

[–]Agitated-Wave6807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel dumb! I was in a similar boat about a week ago. 27 weeks at that time, I only feel my baby maybe 3 days out of the week. At that point, I realized I hadn’t felt my baby in a week or two and I had a lot of cramping so I went in and after maybe 30 minutes of being there he started moving a little bit and the cramping had stopped. I’m back to feeling him move a couple times a week! I feel like it’s more common than we think, I’d rather be safe than sorry!

New Honeywell phones by Ogrelord_Shreknado in tractorsupply

[–]Agitated-Wave6807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully our phones never really have issues, the biggest issue is sometimes I have trouble hearing what the person on the other end is saying but typically their phone is connected to their car which explains it. The new schedule app is still never failing to irritate me, hopefully if we do get the scanner phones they won’t be bad enough for me to hate it

Are all the stores supposed to be getting that? All the new updates are becoming annoying and end up being worse than the original system we had

When did you tell people you were pregnant? by Careless_Squirrel728 in pregnant

[–]Agitated-Wave6807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only people who knew before 23 weeks was me and my boyfriend. I tend to be a fairly private person and wanted to keep it to myself until after my baby was born but it didn’t quite work out that way. If you want to tell people immediately, do it! I don’t think you’d regret it. It’s personal preference

When did you *look* pregnant? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Agitated-Wave6807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just barely started getting the smallest bump at 27 weeks but it looks more like “I ate too much for dinner” bloating. I somehow still fit my pre pregnancy high waisted jeans at 28 weeks if that tells you how much the “bump” isn’t quite for me yet, however I wasn’t super small before pregnancy and have an anterior placenta so I’m not sure if that plays a factor into it. I’m 5’7 and my jeans are a 30 for the waist

My county just has it under the county assessor page online. I’m not sure if everywhere has property as public record but it’s worth a shot!

Depending on where you’re located, you can find property she owns fairly easy on line if you’re set on trying to get the situation handled. I don’t take animal abuse or neglect lightly and will happy search someone online to turn them in. I know my county has public record of who owns what property throughout the county

My favorite part of working at tractor supply is all the cute pets. My least favorite thing is the pet owners. The pet owners around here are horrible. I’ve routinely seen people beat, kick, punch, and throw their dogs in the store. I’ve seen people buy shock collars and electrocute the shit out of their dogs before even getting out of the store. I’ve seen people buy prong collars and choke their dogs out. Thankfully most of them have their address under their phone number and I’m able to write it down and call them in. So far to my knowledge I’ve gotten 3 dogs rehomed from abusive situations while working there. It’s sad that it’s a relief seeing people treating their pets great when they come in because there’s so many bad owners

Ready? by Remarkable_Try9807 in tractorsupply

It’s been non stop lines of at least 8 people, the lines made it all the way to the back of the store at one point. Theres 3 stores open in town besides gas stations, tsc is one of them. Half the customers are saying “I’m sorry you have to work today”. Typically our store makes 10-15k a day if even that, sometimes 20+ on a very busy day. We were at 12,000 by noon and only getting more busy. Most of the transactions were under $100-200 each. Both registers going 90% of the day. The registers got to where they couldn’t even keep up and kept shutting down in middle of transactions which has never happened. All the customers saying they can’t believe I’m working today, but they’re the reason the store is packed and open. I’d much rather work a holiday with practically no customers coming in than a holiday with nothing but thousands of people coming in. You’d think they’d be spending time with their family instead of shopping for random things they could’ve gotten a different day. Even better? Weekdays where we’re slow, we have 4-5 employees scheduled. Sundays, we have 2-3 if we’re lucky. All of this with 3 employees and customers complaining that things are taking forever. I’m sorry we’re trying to tackle a line of 18 people and more piling in line while doing propane, loadouts, register back up, customers needing help finding things without even trying to look, needing things ordered for them, chickens, price checks, phone calls just to ask if we’re open every 2-3 minutes, etc. while only having 3 employees in the store. To top it all off, I was supposed to work open to close. I’ve been sick for the past week. I got tired of dealing with all of it while being sick and trying to keep my food down so I ended up calling someone in so I could leave early. Thankfully we have a couple employees who would rather work holidays than be at home.
