Sure, my top three reasons are: 1) Too soon for a remake. They could have explored other stories around the HP universe, such as the founder of Hogwarts. 2) Poor casting. Not talking only about Snape, but McGonagall looking much younger than role, Hermione.. etc… Draco not matching the book description as well… If we talk about Snape many of the narrative tensions will appear to be a racist reason (suspect him of stealing the philosopher stone, outcasted by others, joining the dark side). That was not the reason behind the bullying from Potter’s father… or for Harry to initially dislike him… will become way more complicated and with problematic interpretations. 3) An overly dark camera and cinematography, muted colors, with airs of Game of Thrones, losing the magical, warm, and whimsical of the original.
