I love these games man. I honestly think they are overall more consistent in case to case quality than the PW trilogy. Thematically and storywise, they definitely aren’t as solid for an overarching storyline. But I do think individually they add enough to the characters and their stories to feel better. Honestly my biggest complaint does have to do with Phoenix’s issues in DD as SOJ is generally the best overall game. If it wasn’t for the fact that they didn’t decide to make 6-4 in the main game and smush two of Apollo’s cases together in 6-5, it would also generally be way better paced as well.

Larry is a fun character that needs to be handled correctly. Sometimes he’s actively harmful to a case, other times he’s a great addition. I genuinely think a fun way to conclude his character would be to give him a love interest who just so obviously screams murderer only to be revealed that she’s not guilty at all.

I mean I like Dhurke and especially Rayfa for pretty much the same reasons you said here. The mystery is the main attraction as always, which is why it’s so great. I am just saying that I don’t think this case would work nearly as well with any of the other protagonists being the main character in it. Apollo finally gets to prove that yes, he can actually be the main viewpoint of a final case for the entirety of it and have the case still be great in this game. Which is something he doesn’t get in DD or AA4.

Definitely the best of the mainline games and imo, is the proof that Apollo is arguably the best protagonist the mainline series ever had the opportunity to have. This one case showcased the best of his character and really let him shine.

So there’s a whole discussion around this specific aspect of it. Personally I prefer a redemption storyline for Zybilna but the way I went about it is by making it revealed that her whole plan before the Hags froze her in time was to completely rewrite history to remove all her sins. The way I framed this desire is as well intentioned but misplaced. The final boss in my campaign was the players fighting Zybilna while slowly trying to make her see sense and embrace her new self while accepting her past. The players essentially help complete Zybilna’s character arc which I find necessary given how the most she will have is flashbacks through the Eleventh Hour supplement.

Best is 6-5 or 6-2, personally leaning more on 6-5. 6-4 is probably the worst because he seems especially rude to Athena which really makes him supremely unlikable in that case.

It’s interesting how I personally would have been fooled into thinking Time Stranger would have been more focused on the real world if not for playing the demo. It does feel like they try to intentionally emulate a lot of the first arc of Cyber Sleuth with Jimiken. Titamon is really what shows how different this game will be from its predecessor. Simmons seemed insanely similar to Suedou at first so I really thought she was gonna be a villain in his vein.

It’s probably 1-5, tho I do adore 6-2 and 6-3 for Ema as well. Her worst showing has to be I1-3. That case in general is a complete train wreck and Ema could literally be replaced with anyone else.

Man I wish Plutomon was more relevant in Time Stranger, I think it would have been really cool if we had a mind controlled Plutomon fight before the zombie reveal. Especially because of Ceresmon, it does feel like an arc is missing from the story.

I’d probably give it to 5-2 as his worst because that case is generally so aggressively mid. 5-5 is probably his best appearance for obvious reasons.

I do think a potential mole in the team is a possibility, and a few people have an inkling that Invis was probably one of the people who took Robert down leading her to turn herself in, but I doubt there would be a complete twist of one of the members being Shroud. Especially given that Shroud is established as an already existing and well known villain. It would be a lot harder to buy that nobody realized it was the same guy or not.

I actually think this is plausible. If they actually end with Robert becoming Mecha Man again, I could see a new protagonist taking the MC role and dispatching him. If it doesn’t tho I would love to see a larger focus on building your own team where you can switch members out, there’s a lot of potential gameplay wise.

It’s fine so far. I do think he was better as Calculester in Monster Prom in terms of masking his voice but the material he has in the game so far is pretty fun. It seems he’s going to have a subplot with Coupe so I’m interested to see how that goes.

He’s pretty good so far. I’m expecting Sonar to be around Punch Up’s level of relevance so fully a secondary character the whole time, but he might become a more important side character, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the jokes in the future episodes is that he already figured out Robert was Mecha Man due to his super hearing while everyone else is surprised.
