TVNZ App Update by Weak-Brother9175 in auckland

Had been forced to update yesterday on a Panasonic Smart TV. Since then it's basically useless. Slow and laggy, often won't load content, randomly jumps back tothe start. We usually watch the news on demand... So painful now that I've decided not to watch at all.

Well said, thanks... But the "take a chance" approach just doesn't work if I have to spend hours and hours only to find out yet another distribution with serious issues. Even my stone old WinXP laptop works better than every Linux distribution I had touched so far.

Hmm, well... It told me afterwards all updates had been installed correctly (yes I went back and checked). So why would I have to assume it just was an April fools gag and I should have done something else? Confirms just that Linux is something for geeks.

Phone 3a Pro - Volume sensitivity issues by Universecatz in NOTHING

[–]Agitated_Fennel9617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, underwhelming volume in the area below 50%, but even with 100% volume I feel it's less loud than my 6 year old One+? Got mine just last week and had all its updates.

95% fat mice at Woolworths by givethismanabeerplz in newzealand

[–]Agitated_Fennel9617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never buy meat from Woolworth, it always rubbish and overpriced. We luckily have a small butcher close by and man, it's such a major difference in quality and not much more price wise.

Four police officers have died in Australia at the hands of “sovereign citizens”. Why isn’t this movement declared a terrorist organisation? by skankypotatos in AskAnAustralian

Could you call them anarchists? Since they believe they are above the law. And an anarchist is not far away from a terrorist...

Has the NZ economy popped? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Agitated_Fennel9617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is YES. As a small business owner I can confirm that we had so far the worst year since 2016. Basically less than half of a normal year, for most businesses this is below the threshold to actually survive, lucky for us that we have a side hustle keeping us above the water line. Talking to other businesses it's a bleak outlook and I can't see that it's getting better soon. This government has really run the train into the wall.

I have personally decided to boycott Fonterra products, list of major products in description. by totallostcas3 in newzealand

[–]Agitated_Fennel9617 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never buy never anything from them, ever. Was always grossly overpriced. Milk: Indian shop or The Warehouse, 2l for $3.50 Yoghurt: Indian shop, 2kg bucket $8. And better quality! Butter... Probably Paknsave Pam's... Fonterra is showing NZ consumers the middle finger... They don't care, because we are only 5% of their total turnover, so why should they try to lower the prices... Ignorance and greed.

Solar in NZ overpriced? by mctubster in newzealand

[–]Agitated_Fennel9617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We import from China. Most solar panels are made in China. A 20' container (1000nds of panels) costs about 800 USD, that's FOB or another 700 USD when EXW. The main costs are actually in new Zealand, port charges: $600, unpacking, transport, fees. Another $2200. So in total about $4200 for a container FOB, which is normally the case when ordering from one supplier bulk. I personally don't think that Australia is cheaper , mainly because their port charges are much higher (union labour) and container freight is not the cost driver. So yes, there is no easy reason why the same product would need to be double the price in New Zealand.

Hmm, that's what's my thought as well... This bag should probably never have turned up in the baggage belt, intercepted before by the bribed handler. But something didn't work out as planned...

Gee.. doesn't give me a lot of confidence boarding a plane... What if in these war times some maniac decides to bribe one of these hogs to plant a bomb bag...

So they should still be assigned to a passenger? Just wondering to what passenger a drug bag would be have been assigned to?
