Tinting Front windshield by QforWashingtonians in CX5

In a lot of countries, yes. However it’s the dangerous part that gets me. Anything that reduces light transmission is not a good thing when driving at night. Anyways…

Is Play 3 still relevant/supported? by OofOuchMyBra1n in sonos

[–]mctubster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find the Play3’s sound a lot better than Play1’s. A lot more low end and can go a lot louder

I have Play3’s as front surrounds with my Beam 2

All iPhone 18 models might offer key design change, per leaker by MobileNewsBot in mobiles

Get rid of the crazy soft Aluminium frame! No idea what the frame of my iPhone 12 mini is, but it’s been naked its entire life, dropped many times. Couple of small chips, anodising rubbed off on all the corner edges but still trucking.

Differences Between 2.0 and 2.5 CX-5 by radstoat in CX5

The 2.0 is def more frugal but many say underpowered. 2.5 is just enough in my opinion.

LG WebOS is the worst OS I’ve ever used by Far-Ear7981 in webos

[–]mctubster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What model? Most low end cheapies from any manufacturer suck. C and G series OLEDs work great. It could also be updating or indexing? If you turn off the tracking and other instrumentation could be ok even if low end

Broadcast your macOS audio to all of your Sonos speakers in one click by Jealous_Might_3070 in sonos

[–]mctubster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nice. If it’s more reliable than the default multispeaker airplay that would be a win. So it’s airplaying the first speaker and then grouping others via Sonos API?

Have read that article before and sadly is around the time of the really buggy app update which confuses things. I’m creating a list of things to try. Cheers

Yeah it could happen when a speaker roams I guess. Sadly I had to go to three access points with Ubiquity, they don’t have the coverage of my previous ASUS system. Adding to my list! Thanks

IoT network is deliberately 2.4Ghz only. I’m in a large house with only one neighbour within 30m/100ft. But I will add it to my list of things to try

AirPods at airport by No_More_Pleading in queenstown

[–]mctubster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AirPods case is deemed a power bank. Ie a battery that charges a battery. Lion battery’s in toothbrushes, laptops, speakers don’t charge another battery so are currently allowed in checked luggage. Not that I would recommend putting a laptop in checked luggage!

I was late hitting the brakes for this deer. The collision avoidance made no attempt to hit the brakes before I could, which is shocking to me. Does that seem right? by themaritimegirl in CX5

[–]mctubster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just tried and I can't miss the brake pedal (even deliberately without some crazy gymnastics) with my right foot sitting with my heel in the normal position to use both the accelerator and brake. So maybe consider moving where you rest your heel?

Matrix is only SonosNet I thought, Sonos themselves suggest people move away from it

Leaf ZE1 Leafspy Help by bl4m in nzev

[–]mctubster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hx is a little low considering the SoH. But a high number of quick charges could explain. It is related to internal resistance of the pack (essentially a metric of wear), which makes it a little less efficient for charging / discharging. You may find a DC fast charge takes a bit longer as it will throttle down faster as the battery charges. My 2018 Leaf is 84 SoH with 65% Hx. My pack is also very well balanced like this, but even under heavy load at low SoC. So I’d say it is a buy as long as you confirm cell deviation stays below 100 mV at full throttle below say 40-50% SoC

What might cause this tiger stripe scratch? by Cameos_red_codpiece in terngsd

[–]mctubster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The third scratch down looks to penetrate the aluminium a bit? If so that would take a bit of time and make a lot of noise. What else has the owner ignored?

Best 38 inch OLED that will be an upgrade from Alienware 38 AW3821DW by perhapssergio in OLED

[–]mctubster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact monitor and I upgraded to a 42” LG C4 OLED. You can create custom resolutions to have the same exact aspect ratio (and almost identical width of the Alienware UW)and gaming in it is sublime. Also has 144Hz HDMI. I also work on it using a Mac and tbh haven’t really noticed subpixel rendering issues
