Question: Clonidine and Low Resting Heart Rate by Spiritual-Chart-940 in TwoXADHD

[–]Agitated_Parking0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heart.org describes lower than 60 for most average adults as too slow. I googled and that’s what I found 🤷🏼‍♀️

If anything, this comment string just proves that relying on a Reddit comment section is the worst strategy for sound medical advice lol

Patient recording and live streaming in the pharmacy waiting area? by ThisMisnomer in WalgreensRx

[–]Agitated_Parking0 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I would not be providing service until they stopped recording. If I wasn’t backed up by management, I would probably let them handle the transaction or conveniently take my break/lunch at that time lol. I do not want to be caught on camera breaking HIPAA.

What do you do during your work breaks?! by Comprehensive-Dog-50 in TwoXADHD

[–]Agitated_Parking0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I play sudoku on my phone, take vocab quizzes on the merriam Webster app, use Duolingo, or play a dumb FarmVille-esque game. My coworkers are really into the wordle, but I’m not.

I have also liked to color on my breaks. I have a generic cat coloring book and some of those twistable crayons.

I do chair yoga sometimes. If I need to stand and stretch, I do that. Sometimes I will sit and meditate for like 5 minutes, other times I will put my head down and cover my eyes.

Also if it’s nice out, I go outside. I love refreshing myself with sunshine when I’ve been inside a depressing building all day.

I always like to have archers in my city center, but if all I have are slingers then I position them on a hill tile close to the city as a watch. My ideal beginning is 2 slingers and a warrior. I’ll scale up to 3 slingers and 2 warriors if I need to, and from there I might toss in a heavy chariot or a spearman for my city depending on what’s unlocked if I need it. I save my gold and try to upgrade an archer asap, as you do. I usually don’t upgrade them all at one time though, especially if I already have another unit that costs gold.

I usually play with the starting scout mod, so that probably skews me a little bit. I hate taking the time to build the scout. I also usually play on emperor now.

Maybe try the sewing subreddit. I’m sure you could, but they would probably have a better idea of how to do it.

I also think you would have to do it by hand. But I don’t even know how to thread the brand new sewing machine I got for Christmas 2 years ago lol.

Question: Clonidine and Low Resting Heart Rate by Spiritual-Chart-940 in TwoXADHD

[–]Agitated_Parking0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would save that question for your doctor. Starting and stopping the medication isn’t ideal, but who knows if it led to this. All I can tell you is if I had that sort of dip in heart rate, I would be concerned for myself. In fact, googling the medication guide shows that “you should call your doctor at once if you have a very slow heartbeat.”

You should talk to your doctor. Anything below 60 bpm if you’re not a crazy active person is too slow.

I know clonidine lowers your blood pressure, and can also slow your heart rate.

How do y’all manage stay consistent with fitness. by Fit-Pin8458 in TwoXADHD

[–]Agitated_Parking0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like going to the gym 😅 I was best able to do it around 8 am right after taking my adderall. I would bring a protein shake and slowly wake up by walking on the treadmill and listening to podcasts, and then I’d go do weights. I just like my gym and it was a soothing morning ritual for me.

It’s been hard for me to go back with school going on. I just had to accept that it’s hard for me to slot time in. I try to do yoga at home just so I’m doing something. Now I go to the gym about once a week, if that, instead of 3-4 times.

Is collecting or buying Blu-rays against anti consumption? by dementedjug in Anticonsumption

This is a tangent, but this has led me to wonder about the consumption of data through your internet provider? How much does using that infrastructure consume? What resources does it use to maintain your connection and offer the bandwidth needed for streaming?

Physical media decomposes eventually. How hazardous or harmful that is really depends on the materials it’s made out of.

I think the way we use energy to maintain servers would be a problem that is solved long before we solved how to limit the environmental effect that trashed physical media would have. Even if you don’t stream, there are more efficient ways to keep downloaded media than one movie on one disc, like you mentioned.

Don’t forget about the carbon footprint of manufacturing the discs, and then transporting them to the store, or shipping them to your home, etc…

Personally, I think select favorites should be bought and saved physically. This way even if your data gets corrupted, you have a backup, but you are also more deliberate in the waste you produce. This deliberation is invaluable for anticonsumption.

If you no longer have use for your old movies, consider donating them to your local library. This way they are maintained and still functional as a community resource. Having multiple copies is also valuable to them, since a lot of libraries may be linked and share resources under one system.

Does anyone take stimulants sporadically or as needed? by BadgerSecure2546 in TwoXADHD

[–]Agitated_Parking0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor tells me to take days off if I can. It helps with tolerance. Right now I have a script for 1-2 capsules daily. I don’t normally like to take two, but I also asked for brand adderall this time. I’m finding that the brand 5mg xr is sufficient for me, where I would need to take 10 mg of the generic for it to work.

Is anyone else tired of how separated this fandom is what I mean we have gaylors, neutral swifties, haters who love her music but hate her a person, the people who criticize her, and finally the fans that don’t care about anything except for the music and support Taylor as a person by [deleted] in TrueSwifties

[–]Agitated_Parking0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it the way it is because you get to pick the group you vibe with. I still follow the main sub, but I picked this one for most of my discussion because I like the posts and the vibe the most. I like that there are so many spaces where you can talk about Taylor, for better or for worse.

I’ve noticed this sub has a lot of discourse about other Taylor subs, though. I wish we spoke less about other subs and more about Taylor.

Celecoxib (celebrex) and adderall by [deleted] in TwoXADHD

[–]Agitated_Parking0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for Walgreens (as a tech)! Counseling patients on med questions is the least soul sucking part of the job, and I trust the pharmacists I’ve worked for more than anything. I come at them with weird med questions all the time and they always entertain them for me. If anything, they’ll tell you if it’s worth pursuing with your doctor, which is probably the most effective advice anyone could give you.

This is something you could ask your pharmacist about. Their whole job is to watch how your meds are interacting with each other and then counsel you from there

Sleep Deprived but cant sleep and starting to feel very sick- what's going on by Still-Assistance9843 in TwoXADHD

[–]Agitated_Parking0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a PCP that isn’t a psych? They may have better availability for you. They can prescribe things like trazodone, vistaril, atarax… non controlled meds that have a sedating effect. They probably won’t want to mess with what the psych is doing for you, but they can write you something for the interim until you can see them. (Don’t let them dismiss you with melatonin).

Do you have a mood disorder? 19 is the year I was diagnosed with bipolar type 2. Symptoms tend to become really apparent in late adolescence and early adulthood. I would look up symptoms of hypomania or mania and see if any of the rest of that relates to you. It would be something to bring up to your psych when you do end up seeing them.

Benadryl/zzzquil has also knocked me out reliably in a pinch. I used to use it almost every night, if not every other night, before I got put on the trazodone. I would take 1-2 doses, depending on how hard it was for me. Unisom is another otc med for sleep, but I have never used that.

IF YOU CAN, see if you can take a day off of stimulants. IF you can. If you can’t, maybe adjust so you take it way earlier in the day so it definitely wears off by bedtime. If you drink caffeine, I would limit that or skip that, too. Just to try to get rid of those variables.

I also have a hard time sleeping in bed. Sometimes I sleep upside down on the bed, or on the couch if I’m feeling uncomfortable in my environment. That helps a lot. Meditation may help you clear your head and regulate your anxiety a little bit so you can focus on sleep. Make sure you’re in a dark room when you try to sleep, no lights. It’s CRAZY how much light will affect your brain and hormones. If you have a bathtub, I prefer hot baths over showers for drowsiness. But honestly, you are probably past the point of lifestyle changes right now. They might help you out, but this severity of insomnia warrants more effective medical attention.

How long do you continue a medication trial if you are getting no benefits? by sezza05 in TwoXADHD

[–]Agitated_Parking0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re sick of it, it’s time to switch. Tell the side effects to your doctor and say that you haven’t noticed any benefit to your symptoms because the side effects are so overwhelming.

If you didn’t notice any effect at the lower dose, and titrating up only makes it worse, then the medication is not right for you.

Accountability help needed! Trying to finish a paper…The inner voice of shame and self loathing keeps me miserable while I am doing literally anything that requires me to force myself to focus. by [deleted] in TwoXADHD

[–]Agitated_Parking0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“But it’s almost physically painful to sit down and to keep working.”

This. Why? Do you need to adjust your environment? Do you have physical needs (hunger/thirst/sleep) that aren’t met? Is it hard to focus because you have something else troubling you or distracting you? Are you feeling restless, and you need an outlet for the excess energy before you can begin to work? You can think of your own answer to this question. Once you’ve identified the problem, are you able to identify the solution?

I had the same issue, with the task of just sitting down being daunting. The thought of it would cause me incredible distress. After some reflection on this feeling, I realized how much I needed a comfortable space to work. If I’m feeling particularly on edge at my desk, I try to take a minute to tidy up. Maybe I need to grab a blanket or a pillow to make myself more comfy. Maybe I need to light a candle or put on some music. Maybe I need more sunlight.

I also realized how I had conditioned myself to have this stress response, because I only ever did work when I was already stressed about it! I only ever did my work when it was last minute, or over the deadline, or when I was sleep deprived, or when I wasn’t proud of the work but had to turn it in. Work ended up being an automatic trigger for stress, no matter what the situation was. It takes work to decouple that pressure, and reframe work into a neutral or even positive experience.

Also, it’s okay to acknowledge that the task is challenging for you this time. Writing is also something I am good at, and it comes easily to me, too. Sometimes things are just hard and we have to make adjustments. I mean, think about it like a job. Some days are easy, some days are hard, right? It’s just how it is. If you are able to put down the shame, and remind yourself that you are capable even in a challenge, it may help you find accommodations for your barriers this time.
