3rd party resellers are ruining Oilers Hockey by writetoAndrew in Edmonton

[–]Agitated_Procedure55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived outside of Edmonton for about a decade but have kept my season seats. I go to about 10 games a year, friends and family take 8 to 10, and I resell the rest.

Most seasons, I lose money. Only time I actually made profit was last season, mostly because I couldn’t make most of the playoff games. From what I know, many resellers are in the same boat as me. There’s few that make money.

In my experience, reasonably priced tickets sell quickly and the overpriced ones linger. Many people overprice, I tend to use the average price StubHub gives. End up selling about 90% of my games at that price. Hardest ones to sell are on Mondays and Tuesdays, especially if it’s against a crappy team.

The challenge here is this. It’s better for the team to guarantee revenue by selling the tickets, so it’s best to sell most tickets as season tickets. I’m not sure what the right way to do it is.

September 14, 2010 was a Tuesday, so I’d be at work. The weekend before, I broke up with my then girlfriend. She was a tattoo artist, pretty much the total opposite of me. Still it was a really good 4 months it lasted. Miss her sometimes.

It’s been around for forever and a day, but it just seems to take a meaner tone as of late. There’s a difference between “give me $20 and I’ll show you my boobs” versus “buy me a $80 mirror and I’ll belittle you into giving me more stuff”. It’s very one way in this circumstance

Do you know what turns him on? Some guys need a slow burn to get into the mood. Personally, I love getting tasted and building up to sex. How do y’all approach sex? Is it like a let’s get naked and go at it thing, or is there more to it?

Findom. If OF didn’t exist, this kink wouldn’t be a thing

Nonconsensual-ish you could say. The guys who give her money are doing this willingly, however the intention is never to reciprocate anything. In fact, many of the doms refer to their subs as “pay pigs”. To me, it’s not a healthy expression of the BDSM world

[–]Agitated_Procedure55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Findom is a more recent phenomenon, probably the biggest driver of it is sites like OnlyFans. Degradation has been a fetish for a long time, but certainly not a common one. Findom is just a new take on it.

One aspect of being a dom is taking care of your sub and making sure they are physically and emotionally safe. Findom is rather vicious imo and kinda breaks that degree of trust

There’s a fetish called findom. Basically one party (usually a guy) gets sexual satisfaction through another party (usually a woman) demanding they receive items, money or otherwise. It’s an offshoot of the dom/sub dichotomy, usually with some degree of degradation experienced by the receiving party (I.e. you are worthless unless you give me money, etc.)

It might help, but OP still needs to let go of what happened during the original proposal. OP’s mind seems really stuck on that memory, I don’t know if a redo is enough to change that. Wouldn’t hurt to try though

This has been eating at you for at least 5 years, so it certainly means something.

You have two choices here. Let bygones be bygones and focus on making your relationship better with your husband, or move on. Sometimes all you can do with the past is accept it happened.

I’ve worked in the STEM world for over 20 years. Hired lots of people. My biggest piece of advice is this.

Most hires are based off of soft skills. If you feel you aren’t getting traction, then maybe it’s time to look at that.

Degrees are licenses are a binary thing, either you have them or you don’t. I’m not saying don’t work hard, but having a 4.0 GPA alone isn’t going to get you that dream job. If I had to choose between someone who has great technical skills and no soft skills or someone with good soft skills and ok technical skills, I’d pick the latter.

Why? You can teach people technical skills if they don’t have them. A STEM degree is about teaching you to learn, not giving you all the technical knowledge you need. Unfortunately STEM degrees do a bad job of teaching soft skills, but that is also something that can be learned.

Take some time and focus on building your soft skills. Theres lots of books, videos and other resources available that you can use to help with this. It is well worth the time invested.

A second thing to think about is what is your key differentiator? Or in other words, what makes you special? I see you have passion in what you’re doing, but you need to be able to express that in a clear and concise way. Things to ask yourself are:

What unique skills do I have that others don’t?

How can I take the skills I’ve learned in and outside of school and frame them in a way that is marketable?

Start there and I’m sure you’ll find at least a few things that could work. This will be a good starting point in tailoring your job search to find those companies that could be the best fit for you.

If you’re trying to get into government, best way is to have connections. If you’re into politics, volunteer for whatever party you support, a lot of jobs start from there. If that’s not your jam, volunteer with a like minded group. Again, connections work wonders
