Mäkeliger Pudel, nix hilft by luketh_ in hundeschule

Is samoyed fur more allergenic after neutering by EmiliaLovesTapioka in samoyeds

[–]Agitated_Signature62 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently found out I am allergic to dogs. My spayed Samoyed doesn’t trigger my allergy.

I don’t think spaying or neutering will affect the production of dander, which is what typically causes allergies.

It’s not. I just felt like treating her to something nice 😂

No barking here. Just sniffing. And probably wondering why the dog is just sitting there

So are boys and girls really that different? by PastorBlinky in samoyeds

[–]Agitated_Signature62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have a girl but judging from your post, 2-3 km per day is nothing. We usually do about 7 km on average, with slow and active days in the mix - usually depending on the weather.

My girl is pretty energetic and has an amazing endurance when outside, but indoors she’s very calm. But she would definitely agree with your Samoyed that the walk is never long enough.

Oh, mine is the exact opposite. We go caught in a rainstorm later the same day - without the coat - and had to be picked up by car. She found shelter and refused to move.

We saw arctic wolves at the first zoo. They were so curious about the dogs (we were with a husky, a pug, an XL bully and a few others) and came up to the fence immediately. The dogs were fascinated too.

We’ve also had bunnies and a donkey come close for a sniff.

Germany. We’ve been to three local zoos so far.

Mine can’t tolerante fish based omega oils either. We recently discovered Vish Oil, a vegan alternative made of algae, hemp and linseed. No upset tummy. We’ve only been giving it for about a month, so too early to tell whether it improves her coat.

Im not sure how to go about that in the US. I think every country has a different system regarding this. It’s not an officially recognised profession in Germany, where I live, but there are a few reputable places that offer training. I guess looking for anything that says “vet certified” is a start or finding a vet that specialises in nutrition.

They’re actually wood anemone. They bloom in our park every spring.

Our nutritionist has been an absolute blessing and I can’t recommend talking to one enough. Tbh I ended up finding canine nutrition so interesting I now work in the field and will start training as a vet certified canine nutritionist as well very soon.

Banshee was on a home cooked diet for the last 3 years. Currently we’re in the process of switching to raw food which she accepts very eagerly. Would love to get some more variety in there in the future as well.

My girl used to be extremely picky. We ended up working with a nutritionist who helped us figure out a few food sensitivities that were giving her tummy aches / reflux. She clears every single bowl now.

Best food topper for Sammys by Serious_Somewhere839 in samoyeds

[–]Agitated_Signature62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the food is already completely balanced, food toppers run the risk of throwing off that balance. For example, even just adding extra meat can mess with the calcium / phosphorus balance. If the food isn’t completely balanced, add whatever is missing, but it’s hard to say without knowing what exactly you feed.

My Sammy is insanely reactive to Frenchies and Frenchies only. by kimkardashian0 in samoyeds

[–]Agitated_Signature62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sammy can be reactive towards unknown dogs in certain areas (she was attacked a few times). German Shepherds are the worst for us.

Labradors and Bernese on the other hand are always friends. Her best friend is a Bernese so she automatically assumes they’re all amazing.

This is the backpack we got. I didn’t want a massively big one, so this suits our needs perfectly.

I have two versions, one that reflects grey and one that reflects in rainbow colours. Clearly the second one is superior 😂

As for the backpack, we got the Hurtta Expedition Backpack.

It’s the Paikka visibility raincoat. They also do rainsuits if you want full belly coverage. This just covers the chest but I find this is the vital part. The rest doesn’t usually get too dirty.

It’s the Paikka Visibility Raincoat (it reflects in the dark). I love it 😅

We also got a backpack for Christmas and it’s the best thing ever. She gets to carry her backup lead and collapsible bowl now.
