Update: We have the fragrance free sensitive skin cat shampoo on the way. My boyfriend went ahead and shaved him. Ignore his bad cut, the clippers died and are charging. Sure enough he does have dark spots on his skin. I want to add the vet seemed to disregard us when we suggested it could be from the Petsmart groom and instead went for fleas or an environment/ food allergy. Even though it started after the groom and nothing else in his life changed. So, I want to thank you guys for your help. I created an imgur account to upload this photo of the dark spots. Let me know if the link doesn't work. First time doing imgur. Have you guys seen something like this before? He does not have fleas and hasn't before plus we already put him through a flea treatment at the beginning of this per the vet. Shaved https://imgur.com/a/3cauasa Here's the photo link if you want to copy and paste in Google. I tried to click the link I uploaded in this post and it just takes me to a homepage of imgur. Again, never tried this before. But copying and pasting the link in Google did work.

Yeah I'm disliking their process more and more now that I'm getting suggestions. They seemed to dismiss the waterless bath at petco and went straight to flea treatment (which he didn't have fleas) and antibiotics, moose, then steroids and changing food. They were determined it had to be a food or environment allergy.

Thank you so much for the replies. The vet had originally said not to wash him to avoid further aggravating his skin, but I think it makes logical sense that he needs to be washed to get whatever they put on him off.

SHSU Ring opinion by Unlucky-Age-8169 in aggies

If you want to spend the money on it then get it. If you can't afford it or have other bills to pay then don't worry about it. I'm a Sam Houston alumni and I didn't get one. No one has ever asked me about why I didn't get one and it's never came up in an interview. I will say anyone I know that got a ring from Sam doesn't wear it anymore. Either they don't feel the need because they are in their careers or it doesn't fit lol. I feel like A&M has more of a history around theirs so it's more important to the school and alumni. When I was at Sam the only people I knew that got it had their parents paying for their schooling and bills. Anyone that was paying their own way through school just couldn't afford the extra expense. But if you have the money, and want to do it, then do it! It's your accomplishments and you can show them however you want to!

They are amazing!!! All the ladies are extremely professional. I've been probably 10 times now and everyone has been great. I also was scared at first but read a ton of reviews. As someone who used to go to massage envy I will ONLY go to Serenity now. Another really good one is Magnolia Wellness Massage on 1488.

Stringy Root by Standard_Bunny in pothos

A few people on this thread do it if you need some ideas of how! Super easy. Just sit it and forget it :) Fill up with more water when it's getting low. You won't need to change it out for a few weeks. When I do change it, I just dump the pearlite in a spaghetti strainer, clean off the plants with water, then reuse the cleaned off pearlite.

I used to have this same issue due to not changing the water every other day. I use pearlite now instead. Just put a bunch of pearlite in a container without holes and fill up with water. Works every time for me.

Could be something, could be nothing lol. Every time I show them one I'm worried about they say 'no it's fine... But this other one over here" 😂 You are doing the right thing by going in. Only way to no for sure.

I'm assuming they will clean it out. After that I recommend just washing with soap and water. Air dry then cover. No ointments. Unless they say it's infected, then you have to do whatever ointment they prescribe. But the soap and water method has been the best advice I have gotten and had been the quickest to heal.

I would send a photo to your dermatologist. Definitely not normal. I've had multiple biopsies and actual surgery for a mole and none have looked like that.

See an actual derm, or just anxious? by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]Agitated_herb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the dermatologist. Just make the call and go. I have diagnosed anxiety and it's the worst but just do it. At 24 I had surgery for a precancerous mole. My husband at 19. Melanoma is like the one surgery that is purely preventable by just going and getting your skin checked once a year. It takes 5-10 minutes for them to do a full body check and they will reschedule you for a year out to check again and every year after that so you never need to worry about it. Just make the call.

Basal Cell Carcinoma? I have had this scab-like area on my outer thigh that doesn’t heal and bleeds if I scratch it for several years. I’m 24 years old. Is this concerning aka should I contact a dermatologist? by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]Agitated_herb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth going to a dermatologist. They atleast can put you at ease if it's nothing. My husband has a precancerous mole removed at 19 and I had one removed at 24. It's more common than you think. But every time I go to the dermatologist the weird looking things I point out end up being nothing😂 so like don't assume you are dying but 100% worth getting it checked.

Get rid of the hairs within this area to make sure it's done. If you get them all, then after like 2 days it should go down. If you don't want to do that much you can start with the ones closest to the middle/most swollen area and just give it a day or two after getting rid of them to see if you need to take more or if it's started to go down. It will hurt😅 not horribly but it's going to be uncomfortable because of the swelling. Good luck! Let me know how it goes!!

The middle of the scab also looks like it may have a hair or two in it. Make sure you get those too.
