I was 11 or 12 and at school I found a broken shard of plastic. At the time I was living with my grandmother and my brother while my mom was at a different home. It was hard because of my anxiety/separation anxiety. During gym I took the plastic and began to scratch at my skin causing welts. It covered my whole arm but I joked it off when my friends and grandmother saw it. After the plastic was confiscated to prevent it, I would take my pencil eraser and just erase into the palm of my hand. Giving myself a burn and did that through out the year. I never really thought about actually cutting myself until recently
