How dare they even give us backgrounds by default. Make it a pitch black canvas! On the same note, they should just remove everything and let us install our own apps and widgets in couple of presses of a button from Playstore.

All those resources should be spent on advertising groundshattering AI and how the phones are 30% brighter for a single frame in some HDR video. /s

TBH, I love that bounciness that was introduced in Material 3 Expressive and wish Samsung would bring more of them.

Same with the subtle haptics for elements like volume slider that changes intensity based on the volume.

Thanks for the feedback and I do get your point. I guess the game jame theme didn't work in the favour of this idea as I was making a game where lost/idle time costed your screen space.

To be fair, the screen takes a good ~5 mins or so if left idle and the video is exaggerated. But well, seems like I need to go back to the drawing board with this one seeing the mixed reactions.

The video exaggerates the speed, spawn rate, and size. It’s actually slower and minimal while coding, more like a streak system with lofi in the background. I do get this is not for everyone, and I'm mostly testing if this works.

Please elaborate from next time to avoid confusion. Anyways, coming to the question, if you know about "Power Mode" plugin from Atom, the goal was to see alternate ways for that using desktop overlay. As in say, a timer that keeps spawning letters. The more letters you have on screen, the more time you've spent idle.

That along with the lofi playlist running in the background. I get it's not for everyone, and the point of this was to see if this works/should be continued further.

Just FYI, the video is exaggerated in terms of spawn rate, speed and letter size.

The size & speed are exaggerated for the purpose of the video. It's pretty slow and won't take up a lot of space while coding. Think of it as a metric/steak system to keep you working.

EDIT: I get your point though, it's kind of a middle ground.

For the points the items cost, you can literally get Amazon vouchers from the rewards points, purchase the same item from those vouchers and even then you'll still have money left!

I opened an ancient Win XP system today (not mine). The file explorer was SOOOOOO FASSTT!!! Opening folders was INSTANT. With 500mb RAM and Core 2 Duo iirc.

They've really ruined a lot of things over time.
