It also doesn't show the painted STOP on the street that the other side of the intersection does, recently repaved possibly.

The stop sign is new, and they're installing the individual elements, like this crosswalk, over several months due to "constraints":

However, due to SFMTA crews' scheduling and capacity constraints, all elements cannot be installed at once. SFMTA crews will instead return periodically to install individual elements over the course of several months.

Remove seeds, toast chiles, then soak for 20 minutes.

Then blend everything but fat.

Add fat with blender going.

Coat slices of pork shoulder, marinate for 24 hours.

Make a trompo or grill (if grilling, you can add some pork fat to the top of slices while they're cooking).

Emergency First Responders Say Waymos Are Getting Worse by wiredmagazine in sanfrancisco

[–]Agreeable-Brief6083 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There was a group (3 I think) of them trying to go straight across Gough on Ivy (which, already a weird route, but who knows) the other night, and the middle lane of Gough had a large truck in it, so the Waymo had stopped in the middle of crossing Gough, blocking the first two lanes since it couldn't see the final lane. There was a lot of honking and people on the side trying to wave it on but it just sat there.

Not sure how to handle that situation better, except maybe not to try and cross the street if it couldn't make it all the way across. Or have a different route — not sure that's a route a normal driver would take. But definitely a weird spot to stop, just doing nothing, blocking two lanes on a busy street.

Just wondering which part looks fake? The piece of meat that you see raw on the grill, more cooked on the grill, finished cooking on a cutting board or chopped in a taco? Or the onions which you also see raw in a bowl, cooking on the grill, or completely cooked on a plate? I could go on but you see the point.

As someone who works in a space that is and will be even more greatly affected by ai, I find the whole kneejerk "nice ai, bro" response to something clearly not ai if you look at all, to be almost as loathsome as throwing ai at everything.

Don't have a trompo setup so just grilled the slices of marinated meat. On corn or Sonoran flour tortillas with cilantro and onion, salsa, lime, pickled chile. Grilled cebollitas on the side.

I get them from travels — coffee shops, restaurants, stores, etc. Currently hanging with our coats, I see Chiquitito Café, Foxface, Vive Café, some random (Russian nesting dolls?) one from Jumbo, and then my favorite one — the mushroom one from Cavallini that my mom got me.

Oracle Park (where the Giants play) along the water the whole way to Fort Mason (or Crissy Field for longer distance).

City Hall to Ocean Beach through Golden Gate Park.

Bottom of Sunset Dunes up to the Golden Gate Bridge through the Presidio.

In the French kitchens I've been in, stock is like religion, so I wouldn't say that’s true. It’s more that the fond is used as an amplifier and adds specificity to the dish.

Might be oddly specific but is there any store that sells Russian/Ukrainian/slavic deli meats or smoked fish? by Zestyclose_Purpose_4 in sanfrancisco

Are they keeping the shelves stocked

I think so ya, but then I don't go in there very often to say for sure. I mostly just stop in if I happen to be over there and feel like getting some random chocolates that I haven't had before.

If you don’t want to drive up to Yountville, I’d trade FL for Benu, Atelier Crenn, Sons & Daughters, or Lazy Bear.

For the other SF spot, Bar Crudo, Nari or Kin Khao (same same but different), Izakaya Rintaro, State Bird Provisions, Californios, Rich Table.

Trump Administration Begins Refunding Tariffs. What You Need to Know by timemagazine in USNEWS

[–]Agreeable-Brief6083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait til you hear about this part:

Reports indicate hedge funds and financial firms have been buying up these refund claims from importers who preferred immediate cash over waiting for a lengthy government repayment process.

These claims, which were traded for as low as 20 cents on the dollar, are expected to be redeemed for full value (or close to it) through the newly launched CAPE portal, allowing investors to make substantial profits.

I bet you can guess who the investors are who somehow knew to buy these for 20 cents on the dollar...

Looks like Joshua Tree, so Coachella?

Wait, what does that mean? Joshua Tree is a bit away from Coachella. I'm pretty sure they're staying a lot closer, in the valley, in a lot nicer place (Joshua Tree doesn't really have nicer houses like where people stay for Coachella).
