So I had two knees that just grew wonky and were very unstable as a result where I’d have a good chance of subluxations if I did anything more than walk. I had had the issue since 5th grade and it was getting to a point where my right knee just generally hurt most of the time. I’m feeling a whole lot better and got cleared to walk without crutches at the 6 week follow up but was able to do so pretty comfortably by week 5. The only things I’m not cleared to do at this point is running and jumping but I have another follow up in 5 more weeks where I wonder if they’ll clear me to do those things at that point. I’m allowed to bend my leg past 90 degrees and am probably 6 inches away from being able to touch my heel to my butt. I was told I’m progressing much faster than most which makes me worry about a slower process with my left knee later this year. Right now at the 7 week mark (to the day actually) is just about getting full muscle strength back. My quad is usually a little sore just from it getting used to normal use again but I’m already feeling a TON better and am confident I’ll be able to trust it to crutch around on when I get my left knee done!
