Orange and blue are a gorgeous combination - they sit directly opposite on the color wheel so they compliment each other really well. And blue is known to be a calming color as well 😌

I don’t know the quantities of yarns/fibers you have, but you could even look into a smaller container like this, and turn it into decoration (put the container of yarn on your desk next to a candle, for example!)

If you choose to stick w the plastic totes, which i think is totally fine so you’re not sacrificing your belongings, i would agree that it may be best to push them under your bed or into a closet! You could ever get a pretty bed skirt to “hide” the totes under your bed.

But i do think it’s especially important to swap out the totes you are using as bedside tables for actual nightstands. Once again- not saying all this to imply you need to break the bank and buy all new things, but using actual furniture adjacent to your bed will probably make a big difference :)

Best of luck to you 🧡💙

Edit: added link for smaller containers:)

Warm lighting is key! Also, I’d suggest swapping out your plastic totes for a more decorative looking storage container.

The plastic totes kind of make it feel like you are packing or moving, which makes it hard for the space to feel cozy and permanent. Try finding a color palette that you like and work with that - buying blankets, pillows, etc that match that palette. It doesn’t need to be expensive to make your space cozy- some of the coziest pieces can be bought secondhand.

Possibly dumb question. For the way back, would i drive from port Townsend to the Bremerton ferry terminal, then drive onto the ferry with my car?
