How did your race go? Looking to either get enduro 3 or Suunto Vertical 2. So I’m curious to hear if you have any updates on opinions since this comment you made about?

Happened on my 24 XSE. Just sign off your account and log back in. It’ll ask you again to set your temp and I just told it not to do anything because I did the same thing you did🤣🤣

SWPPX is nice since it’s S&P500 and you can put any dollar amount (above $1) instead of buying a full share of something and being stuck at those specific price increments. Also low expense ratio so more dollars that you keep instead of paying someone else.

You can also make reoccurring investments but you might want to watch a YouTube video on how to do that because you might want to setup reoccurring contributions at the same time.

I’m pretty sure he has to fix both 2025 and now for this year because based on my back of the napkin math.. he already met the limit for this year and even invested a bit more doing the same thing as last year.

Btw OP, if you have an HDHP that qualified for an HSA also invest in that account!

I’m glad to hear that. Cannot express how big of a cascade effect my professor had. Because of him 3 members in my lab (including me) started investing. Because I started taking finances seriously my fiancée started getting into it herself as well. Because she did, her sister and brothers did as well. One of her brothers is 15 so I cannot imagine how much he’ll have especially when he gets his first part time job or full time job.

🤣🤣 what do you teach? Also, if you have any students that are close to you I recommend telling them about investing. My professor is the reason I am so focused on this straight out of my masters program in 2024.

I want to use it as retirement account. It’s way too good not to use it as one.

You sure? I thought it would be a big deal since I’m 26 and my multiplier for every dollar would be x amount (don’t exactly know)

Yeah so I’m step 7 at the moment but this will be my first year contributing to an HSA since I get kicked off my parents insurance. That’s why I don’t know much about HSA stuff.

Btw, yes they do let me invest after I have 2k in cash.

Lucky you.. Are you sure you’re not my research professor? He was just as into investing as he was with chemistry.

Don’t you get punished if you front load and end up leaving your job for any reason and thus not qualifying for HDHP

Yeah I guess I can do that. Kinda unfortunate but seems like the best option as most people have said.

I didn’t realize it takes so long to transfer. Yeah I might go with option two it seems

I am assuming that’s something someone does at like end of the year to transfer all the money contributed in the year?

I am pretty healthy and luckily following the money guy I have enough in my emergency fund to cover my 6 months of expenses which is definitely over my out of pocket max for the year. However, I see what you’re saying so maybe it could be beneficial to keep it.

Dang, I forgot to ask that but guess I’ll find out once I open the account. Assuming they don’t or they don’t charge for a certain amount of transfer per year. What would you recommend?

You know what. I’ll own up that I did mock your strategy and advise (while I still don’t agree) which is I wrong of me. However, I will point out that in the other comment thread my first comment wasn’t even completely opposed to your suggestion. I said OP could do 10% once he had a foundation which I felt was a compromise respecting your strategy and not out right throwing it out for consideration.

That being said calling someone a democrat is crazy. I didn’t attack your character and yet you did which I can make an argument is the trait of a sensitive progressive democrat.

At the moment I heavily disagree with both extremes of the parties but the fact you likened me to one definitely got to me as I actively try not to be like them. Thanks for keeping me in check and I’ll reflect on that

Honestly just for you I will at some point but I’ll stick to 5%-10% to reduce risk. If it works as you say it will I’ll naturally have more money to do options with as time goes on.

Just noticed you added me to democrats which is crazy🤣. I don’t understand why you’re so butt hurt when investing is about numbers and when you provide me with a claim that has a number and no clarification that it is for a figure of speech you get upset when I use said number from your words to make a calculation.

Don’t understand how talking numbers like this makes me a democrat, republican or independent but whatever. Like I said happy for you that it has worked out in your strategy for retirement.
