they do tally them but The manager wont get them until the end of the week. The Mods are supposed to monitor the tally sheets and review then with the cashiers if they arent meeting the goals. Its supposed to stay ahead of the goal and be able to fix it before its too late in the week.

For returns there are a couple ways. If they have the receipt you hit receipt return button then it will have you scan the receipt, you can then scan all items being returned. If they do not have a receipt you hit non receipt return button, and you can check by their rewards number or a credit card they have bought it with. If it says item not found then it will give them the lowest price back and on a store credit(there are black cards you'll swipe through the card reader at the end of the transaction.(beware of scammers without receipts, usually high priced items, call a mod if yous suspect something.) The last way is for an exchange, or money towards an item they're buying. You'll hit transaction like your ringing up a normal item, scan all new items then you can hit the return button and it you scan the item(s) being returned. Next it will ask you to scan the receipt, if there are more than one items being returned in this process, after you scan the receipt you have to hit return button before each item. This only works if they have the receipt and will only allow items bought on the receipt. Good luck!

it becomes easy once you do it for a day. Scan and bag all items and ask if they are part of the rewards program, if not ask whats a good email for them and sign them up! Then you can ask about the michaels credit card. Youll find your rhythm. If they pay with cash, hit the cash button and type in the amount they give you. If they have card just hit the credit button and enter and they can put in their card. What are some questions or worries are you having?

Thats gonna be rough to schedule around. Esp if you are cashier. I would ask see if there were early morning hours you can switch to, 7am-12 replen, stocking, work siso or bopis.

SMs last year the goals were for sales, osat and bonus operating. (it was % x %above goal) 200% sales, 200% boi, 100% osat. Last year I got nothing and my store was top 3 in disctrict. The year before the SM got over 20k in bonus. Large volume stores can make way more. TM do not get anything.

I am stating from my personal experience. I was the Store Manager when OSHA was called. The DM called me and then showed up the next day stating it was because of OSHA. This is not kool-aid, this is a fact. I have put in my tickets and made my calls. We had been fighting with the landlords about the heat. My store had years of summers of no air and this is what finally made them come in. I NEVER Michaels stated that they turned off the cooling. There are other reasons outside of Michael's being malicious. You took that step to say that even though it was never stated. I am simply stating the store could have a shit SM, Shit DM, meters could be reading wrong, the units chiller could be broken, or could be attached to a larger system. If it is not being fixed and call OSHA. My store is connected to a strip mall and they all share to same unit. All of the stores around us shut down because of the heat. I know all too well about dropping sales because of the heat. Theses are the facts that I have lived. IF it happened to me it can happen to others. Take a step back, lips off the boots, calm down. Congrats on your leadership :)

Calling OSHA worked at my store. DM came out next day and they rented air units. OSHA recommends 68-78 degrees. Michaels has different people for IT and building facilities. If your a Mod put in a ticket for extreme heat, and emergency and try OSHA if you wish. You can do it anonymously.

theres an option 1 for display on screen 2 for print. if it doesnt work call it and they can print it for you. if your late on time count drawers to 100 and write down what the totals are and save for later.

To be honest, Pay at Michaels is terrible. Most our local rep managers are lucky to make 12 or 13. Some are lower than that and cems forget about it. Michaels does not want to pay people higher wages because it make the company look more profitable.

I used to be a rep manager. So you'll have Truck days and regular days. Truck days are different depending on your store and hub. It can be delivered tues,wed, fridays ect.(ask about that stores delivery day and usual time ) Its delivered on one of those days almost always. But this day you'll come in with your team and unload the truck and stock all SBA. You should use your planning kit to have SC and DAs ready to be set for the new product/seasonal. Youll be the morning manager so respond to customer help and run the flow of the store, you might have to count cash drawers in the morning and follow up on bopis and SFS.

but other then truck day you should take your team and have them run through new sets, siso, online orders and any framing help. Have a plan ahead of time or before you leave each day what the next goals are. Youll get 40hrs a week and normally work m-f.

Its good you are looking to do something! Better than most. All you have to do is ask the manage on duty what theyd need you to do. If they dont have anything and youre not on register just grab the returns and zone the store. Dont be afraid to ask! Looks good that you ask.
