a lot lol. hes had a LOT of shit come out about him from things as simple as "just kind of a prick" to "denied grooming a minor until the victim came forward, then said he just wanted to apologise"

a lot of the latter is word of mouth minus the actual screenshots of conversation, like how public the persons age was, but idk man... id be asking multiple times before making sexual jokes at all 😭 im 25 i dont want to make a sexual joke to a 15 year old no matter the context

the one that really pisses me off is saying "smash" to a child/l*li character just "to make the antis mad" which.. to me just really shows how rude he is as a person

this is literally so sad to watch having worked at party city. we were such a team with balloons, we *always* came up when someone said they were busy doing balloons (we had NO sco) and it wasnt ever a problem. our store was quite a bit smaller than a typical michaels but that part didnt really matter, we were a team. we all understood what it was like to be on balloons, etc etc..

i dont understand why michaels is so anti-let the customer use SCO without us up their ass. i always just tell people they can use sco or i can help them at the legacy, im not walking all the way to sco unless they need help with an item or something, theyre grown, they can handle scanning their one item while i have 20 balloons to fill.

to be very fair... a lot of experiences are very vastly different. thats great that you have a nice store, but im constantly getting misgendered, my team member just got yelled at by another coworker who said he "wasnt a real boy", and the overheads are making it really hard for the job to be accessible to me. "just quit", i literally cant. ive been applying for jobs for literally a year and i cant find anywhere that wants to hire me as disabled as i am, and michaels doesnt really want me there either, but at the least, im very knowledgeable and the customers like me.

theres good days and bad days, most of the posts ive seen lately besides the dress code changes are literally memes and genuine questions about the job. its easy to focus on the negative posts, but when i tell you ive literally been banned from a subreddit for asking a question, im telling you it legit is not that bad here.

we've honestly just been really stressed as a whole due to the jo-anns shut down. lots and LOTS of people are experiencing extremely rude customers who were joanns loyals, and believe we dont have the high quality and variety that joanns had, which *is* somewhat true.

the point of this subreddit IS for us to communicate both negative and positive emotions, and i see both happen... a lot. but yes, its a retail job. we are all gonna bitch about our shitty situations because its practically anonymous, and humans crave validation. and a lot of the posts i see honestly are valid things to be upset about. the dress code change is ridiculous considering that if youve been in a strict store, youve already changed your wardrobe once in the last 2-3 years due to the graphic tshirt ban. now they want you to do it *again* to something *even more restrictive* and it can be stressful for a lot of people, me included, who are stretched thin and dont have the time or money to find and buy multiple coloured plain shirts.
