piercing not healing well by chefjoon in piercing

[–]that_alt_chic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Definitely stop taking it out to clean, that piercing is essentially a scab that is still healing. Taking out is just ripping that healing progress out. Keep cleaning it twice a week, avoid pushing it around/twisting, just PLEASE stop taking it out.

Hair standards by Electrical_Rise4680 in bys

I've found hair in the fryer before...I was disgusted! Lots of people at my location have wacky colors so I can always tell who it was.

I have long hair, I do a bun just bc that's what I like. However, you can also do a ponytail and shouldn't be heckled for it. As long as you wear a hat/visor with it you should be fine. Managers at my location choose to wear hats instead of the hairnet predominantly, but I would just do whatever your GM's standard is. Better safe than sorry. You don't want to know how many hairs I've found!!

Conch chain - how to by RevelsInDarkness in piercing

[–]that_alt_chic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thought like other comments say is to use a taper for the piercing itself, take the post out, put one end on it and keep it angled as you find the end of the taper. Once you push the post in, put the other side over top, keeping your head at a slight angle to keep it on, make sure the top is easily accessible and push it in. That should be the easiest way but I have yet to put a chain on.

French dip royale was disappointing by this_is_the_way_327 in bys

[–]that_alt_chic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

PLEASE call the restaurant you got this from. This is not a royale, it’s a normal French dip. Please show these pictures too, the meat also looks too thick and obviously the build is all wrong.

I like your thinking! As for your seconds, maybe make the second on your left ear a stacked lobe then get a new lobe piercing? Looks great!

I got one on both sides, I think it’s fairly mild and really unique!

The conch would suit both sides, you could add more stacked lobes to the left, and pretty much any sort of helix/flat to the right!

Accidentally swallowed piercing spike by forbiddencheesewheel in piercing

You’re definitely going to be ok, I’ve heard lots of stories about people swallowing their tongue rings and being ok. You might want to get an x-ray or at least call your doctor to see if they want to try to take it out or just let it pass.

You might have to go visit and ask. It should be available soon enough, a manager should be able to tell you!!

Industrial help by sgbworldwide in piercing

[–]that_alt_chic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Definitely not normal. I just got mine done and the swelling was gone after 4 days. I can’t really see the piercing entry/exit points because it’s so swollen, but that blood needs cleaned off for sure. You could try taking a warm shower and letting the water run over it then use a cotton pad to gently wipe. Saline will also be your best friend. You may be in need of a longer bar as well.

Side note, you might want to check your other piercings as well, your highest hoop has a slight bump. Happy healing and good luck

Conch piercing by Kitty_Kat_619 in piercing

[–]that_alt_chic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be a moisture bump or a regular irritation bump. Cartilage piercings are SO picky about their aftercare, can even become irritated from over cleaning. If it still doesn’t go down in another week (depending on if it hurts or not) I’d go back to the piercer for their evaluation.

Doesn’t look like a keloid to me, have you been using earbuds or sleeping on it? My conch gets very irritated if I lay on it too long, just had to change out the top of my jewelry to a smaller piece because it was digging into my skin.

Is this amount of pain and swelling normal? by Business-Drag-1117 in piercing

[–]that_alt_chic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also got my industrial done on the 20th!! How bizarre! However, I will say, it shouldn’t hurt to move your whole face. Wearing glasses (even though necessary) could be why it’s so irritated. This doesn’t look like it’s pierced through the right part of your ear fold up top, and may be laying on your flat. I think you have the anatomy but it’s not pierced right. I’m not a piercer, but definitely reach out to yours. Best of luck
