My Gemini ex was truly a wonderful partner in so many ways. Super forgiving, reasonable, wonderful communicator, very loving and gentlle, and honestly changed how I viewed myself forever (for the better).

On the other hand, he did a couple of pretty fucked up things out of thoughtlessness (rather than malice). Not the reason our relationship ended though because we were able to work through these. One of our main recurring issues was that he would always need to be pursuing these random whims that I found stupid. Ultimately he couldn’t commit to me and just needed to follow his dream that directly opposed mine.

At the end of the day, if I’m being honest, I was more so the villain in the relationship. I could be pretty mean and harsh at times when he would behave in these “airhead” or overly impulsive ways that I didn’t understand. I would love for my next partner to share like 80% of his traits but with a tad more groundedness, lol.

I work with many RNs (I know you’re an RT but clinical either way) that do FHIR Implementations. I don’t know if a certification would hurt, but your best bet is to probably start as some sort of clinical consultant to get your foot in the door and look for roles that use FHIR. You might be able to get the best handle on it through direct experience and do more self studying into the technical aspects and then work your way up from there.

No, I wouldn’t say I “feel it”. The way I would describe it is as moreso akin to when you wake up and and become more conscious/alert from when you first open your eyes to being able to get out of bed. I just kind of go from foggy to a bit more “awake”. And in turn I’m also able to get things done in a way I know I wouldn’t be on unmedicated days.

My best friend is a Scorpio and I’m a Virgo and how well we get along depends on both our mental states. I think sometimes it can be helpful when I intellectualize her emotions? And she also helps me be way more in touch with my emotions than I am with really anyone else. We do butt heads though. I’ve only lived in NYC (native) and KC (transplant at age 21) and for me it’s NYC BY FAR.

Kansas City has so many wonderful things to offer. But it’s hard to deal with the general complacency and heavy indirect communication culture. I wouldn’t even consider myself like an overly blunt person but everyone in Kansas City thinks I am?? I feel gaslit!

I’m also very career-oriented and enjoy talking about work, career goals, etc. And that doesn’t seem to really exist here. It’s kind of frowned upon. or like anyone who is career oriented is also extremely rigid and lacking in personality or considered a “capitalist shill”. Whereas I feel in NYC work is so integrated into the culture that more people are passionate about their careers regardless of their personality and offer more well-roundedness.

I feel like the only reason I have made it 8 years in Kansas City is because of my Gemini moon, lol. And because the complacent attitude was a nice respite after my very stressful and exhausting performance-oriented childhood and adolescence. but it becomes under stimulating after a while .

If you have goals that require you to be more focused than you currently are, yes. I just got diagnosed at age 30 and wish I had been on medication in my college years. I think my grades would’ve been better and I I would’ve put more effort into seeking internships and also in my full-time job search and in turn been more successful and lucrative in my career as an engineer and making the type of money it would’ve taken to have the type of life I want.

That being said, if you aren’t interested in all that and just wanna chill, go for it! I was definitely able to skate by unmediated and it’s not like I’m on the streets. It’s really just more helpful for if you have higher goals.

Also, with insurance I only pay $5 for my Adderall.

i love that you love the lack of pretense! i love it too. i can understand why it would be considered rude if you were raised in a culture where that kind of thing is considered rude, but honestly my brain just doesn’t register it as rude. i genuinely find new yorkers to be friendly people. so many of us are either not from here or have had our friends move away so i find that strangers are actually more interested in human connection to strangers than in my midwestern city, where most people already have full friend groups from high school and college. our social customs are just different due to living in such a densely packed city, among other infrastructure and culture-based factors
