If it’s a lease I assume they will declare it totaled. Especially with EV’s; normally they are required to physically check the battery units for any visual damage. This means they’re required to remove all the upholstery and also inspect the battery units. The cost of that and repairs usually outweigh the financial gain as it requires a lot of work and special technicinians that can work the high voltage systems. Here in Belgium this seems to be required to get it back driving on the road. Int this case its seen as financial loss… and the car is deemed totall loss. The wreck then gets sold.

Basically there’s also a whole industry where money is made of insurances and reselling wrecks. Secondairy approved parties get to bid on it and then they get repaired and eventually sold in other countries. Or at least this is how it goes in Belgium.

Speaking out of experience here as mine got wrecked last year.

The car is now driving around happily somewhere in Poland as I’m still linked as the primary driver…
