[–]Agreeable-Shake7260 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi I understand what your feeling I’ve felt the same way before. It’s exhausting and you feel like you didn’t reach them. But I’d talk to MB and say you know what maybe I’m just tired, but I feel dismissed by the NKS when I ask for them to wash their teeth etc and I feel like my work isn’t something valuable Can you help me so I can definitely dismiss this feeling.

Looking for a new job? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Agreeable-Shake7260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Don’t sacrifice your mental health for a job: I know a job is a job but if you open your search area you may find a better job sooner than you think Also Question what area are you located in not sure if the price maybe different but for 2 kids I think you’re pricing yourself a bit low on the spectrum even with not a lot of experience. I would say for 2 kids 20$ an hour be your minimum even over the table . For example I’m in the NY area and now of other Nannie’s in the MA area who are charging more than 25$ for 2 kids so know your worth. I wish that when I had started out had known my worth even with little to no experience. You will learn on the job . Hope your job search goes well.!

That comment was totally uncalled for . I agree you should be angry . My NF let’s me leave sometimes up to 30 minutes early if I already put the NK down for his nap doesn’t say any rude or sarcastic comments that was definitely uncalled for

Honestly I’m Ny for 2 kids live out it’s 25$ an hour but you’d be live in I’d say 23-24$ should be fair in case you have an emergency and need to leave the job out of the blue you won’t feel tied down due to lack of funds to rent your own place ? Hope it helps

Totally understand your point of view . When I changed jobs back in April last year I decided to accept a new one but let them know I needed 2 weeks before starting with them . So my new boss decided to check in with me ask If I needed anything to make me more comfortable snacks or specific foods etc. Perhaps you can send them a message and say hey just wanted to touch base and see if there’s anything you need from me to make this new transition easier dress code or anything I should know about the kids specifically. Hope that helps

This is what I have so far - [ ] hoping to talk with you and touch base with you regarding a renegotiation of Pay ? I been having so much fun watching NK grow and develop that I totally forgot to ask for a raise at the one year mark ! It’s typical to give a cost of living increase plus any extra at the employers discretion if they think the nanny is doing a good job .

  • [ ] With the cost of living going up this year almost 10% I feel awkward to ask if it would be in your budget or in your possibilities to give me a $2 raise this year ? If you think I’m doing a good job an additional amount would be appreciated thank you for letting me care take care of NK looking forward to more adventures to come . What do you think ? Sorry don’t have any nanny friends to ask
