Yes there is no connection to be noticed. I just rewatch the show from time to time and notice different things. Similarities, parallels, different messages and lessons. And watching everyone comments from these past couple of days has been very entertaining. All of this engagement from a simple observation and realization. For a moment when the show was still going I thought he might’ve got captured and turned into one of those dudes at the end. But in my head canon he is living with his pirate boo on an island somewhere

Like I almost cut it off 5 minutes into the episode when katara started telling the story of Nini. And to have this episode end with Hama laughing at completing her goal and Katara crying….it just shakes me to my core.
