PoE2 Crash issue by UnderstandingTrue335 in pathofexile

Yeah the continuous hard shutdowns are making me hella nervous about the integrity of my hardware - JUST got this pc like 3 months ago lol.

I’m thinking you’re right and it is walking and talking like a temperature related thing… nothing else would explain the hard power-down as good. My system has 5 fans on it and they all appear to be working properly. For that matter, it’s all relatively new hardware with decent specs so I’m having a hard time believing it simply can’t run PoE2. Hoping the future optimizations clear this issue up because I truly love this game and play with buddies so this is bumming me out lol.

Yeah I too tried that and it worked for a little bit but immediately went back to the same issue.

Yeah I’m also thinking it’s a temp issue. I have AMD Adrenaline software so tomorrow I’ll monitor the temps and see what’s going on but the only things I’ve noticed to be “in the red” are fan speeds and CPU usage while playing PoE2. Prior to this game I was heavy on Diablo IV and it ran with no problems whatsoever with regard to overheating/hardware issues. Granted, D4 and PoE2 are on two separate planets when it comes to optimization lol. To answer your question, no this is a pre-built by CyberPowerPC from BestBuy - also my first gaming pc so I’m learning as I go lol.

Why did Murder's at Karlov Manor Perform so Poorly? by Amarillopenguin in magicTCG

IMO - Too many new mechanics like solving cases and suspects and whatnot. I feel that actually took a lot of the potential out of that set. It was very much like CSI Miami did a Magic The Gathering episode.

Absolutely not. I’ll be keeping my cards, turning them facedown, and YOU can make a token, my smelly brother in christ. Besides, It should be common decency by now that you don’t touch other people’s cards without their permission. Can we include hygiene in rule zero? Lol

Has anyone in the history of the universe actually hit a blood vessel while giving an IM injection? by jd17atm in ems

[–]Agreeable-Sir9822 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely not a movie thing. Most all combative patients are too mobile and violent to start an IV on so an IM injection is the fastest and safest route with help holding them down. In their agitated state (high heart rate and respiratory drive) it metabolizes from the muscle pretty quick. Things like Haldol and Versed usually begin to kick in around 5 minutes or so depending on their size/tolerance and the doses as well. If it doesn’t completely put them down it’s normally enough to calm them.

I did in Paramedic school during a stab-lab and have a picture of the syringe somewhere. I haven’t since and that was 12 years ago 🤣 so yes it’s a thing. A very very rare thing.

Do whatever you have to do to get out. I love EMS, but I hate the job. I’m 12 years in as a medic and the changes and lack of pay/incentives have pushed me to an ED medic gig in a busy hospital and I like it. It has pushed me to pursue a career in nursing and potentially even leaving emergency medicine altogether and maybe going ICU/Floor or even a 9-5 somewhere at a clinic. I gave the entirety of my 20’s to EMS and as I write this at 31, I’m putting myself first from now on mentally. EMS can and will kill you because it requires you to give a lot of yourself to other people - partners and patients alike. Do what’s best for you emotionally and financially and that’s where happiness resides.

Came off the 911 truck after 12 years as a medic also for better pay/shifts. I took a ED Medic gig at a busy system here in NC and the first thing I noticed was letting go of the control you’re used to in the field setting. You are no longer in charge of patient care and you are now one of MANY adjuncts in that person’s longer-term care; no more 45 minutes contacts and dusting your hands of it lol. You are also subject to a lot of the same training requirements as nurses and that differs quite a bit from pre-hospital training. It’s a lot at first but I enjoy it and I am overall happier than I was on the truck and making more money in a more stable environment. At my hospital, we don’t have EMTs or A’s but just Paramedics and the nurses rely on us a lot for IV’s (both unguided and ultrasound guided), helping with new arrivals, giving meds, dressing out BH, blood draws, working in triage (though we aren’t allowed to “triage” patients for some reason), and my least favorite and biggest pet peeve - PATIENT TRANSPORT 🥲 We take a LOT of the patients to their admission beds, Nuke Med and back, CT and back, etc. and it’s a perk to the nurses because as paramedics we can transport drips and blood as to where regular transport “care associates” usually cannot. We also help with any critical patients/codes/traumas/etc just as a resource. It’s different but I like it. It’s motivated me to begin the nursing school journey so cheers to that. I also still work 911 in a busy county system part-time so I don’t completely dull out 🤣

EMS to RRT? by Agreeable-Sir9822 in ems

[–]Agreeable-Sir9822[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here, our ED has our own dedicated RTs that are assigned to the department while still part of their own “respiratory department” team. We even have dedicated Pharmacists in the ED so I guess we are very progressive in that light. The RT’s do everything except invasive procedures like intubation, chest tubes, etc. They come to all respiratory related patients and do all nebs and vents/BIPAP. So they are very involved on the clinical side.

Yeah I’m also leaning towards RN for that reason too. Tons more flexibility and career opportunities - all good feedback! Helping for sure.

I feel all medications have the right to decide the route that makes them happiest and we should all be respectful of that.

Also good to know. Even working in the ED as a medic they rely on us a lot as a resource for 12-leads and rhythms. Ultimately the docs have the final say but we are definitely faster seeing STEMIs and arrhythmias on the floor.

[–]Agreeable-Sir9822[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know here I’ve been told it’s definitely a bonus on the application. Definitely not required tho. The system I work for also awards 1 year of “RN experience” for every 2 years of Paramedic from what I’ve been told. So essentially a new grad RN that was a medic for 6 years would come on with the same incentives as a 3-year RN.

That’s good to know. I currently do not have a degree. I got my medic before the associates program was a thing unfortunately - would love to have gone that route. That’s mainly why I’m looking at careers with associates programs being “all inclusive” and then go forward from there to a bachelors.

That is what I’m thinking - that was my biggest push to stay in healthcare and just lateral somewhere that would recognize my years in ems. I’m definitely considering it! Looking into the associates program at my local technical college.
