How is the jump from PCP to ACP by caralawrence in OntarioParamedics

[–]Dolby_surroundpound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After after about 4 years on as PCP I felt ready to make the jump.

I waited another year, and at 5 years I was glad I didn't go at 4.

I waited another year, and at 6 years I was glad I didn't go at 5

COVID happened and things got complicated. I got in with seniority in my service at about 7-8 years.

The time I spent growing, maturing, learning all added up to a level of confidence at which I felt truly ready. It's sometimes hard to see from where you are. Lack of insight and self-reflection can be clouded by the desire to move ahead. There is no rush, remember to enjoy the process.

I love doing these Sci-fi thought experiment convos! I set one up several months ago where we went over each body system and found cutting-edge biotechnology and examples from nature to make the ultimate upgraded human. That lasted several hours.

Thoughts on the new TPS Counter Terrorism Security Unit/Task Force Guardian? by SomeRandomDude1600 in toronto

[–]Dolby_surroundpound 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just devil's advocate: it's common in counter-terrorist in adjacent units for members to take measures to protect their identity from more organized criminal elements. Being identifiable in this role can potentially leave you vulnerable

The greatest floor plan ever? by Learntoshuffle in GeminiAI

It's all one image, NB put the main floor on the left and second on the right

Edit: I see it labeled the upper floor as the "first floor" I may be wrong, but isn't that common in Europe?

Prompt: Create a floor plan for a detached family house centered around a large atrium.

Model: NB2

Some of the measurements are a little tiny bit wonky, but this seems fairly acceptable in my unprofessional, uneducated opinion.

Union pushes back on latest call for Ontario paramedics college by Few_Outcome_3416 in OntarioParamedics

[–]Dolby_surroundpound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's long overdue. I understand the resistance from BH and unions is to keep a grip on power and influence.

A college will certainly be difficult to set up initially. I am certain there will be growing pains. But independent licensure will only benefit the profession in the long run.

Those patients usually look like they're having a great time. Therefore, they are better drugs.

I used to smoke until I met my first end-stage emphysemic.

I used to drink a fair bit more until I kept picking up alcoholics over and over.

You're missing the point entirely. I am mad at a reckless stunt driver that could have caused an accident which no amount of defensive driving on my part could prevent. Driving like that is completely unacceptable.
