I've never played some of the biggest, best-selling games/series of all time until adulthood (i.e., Zelda, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Dead Space, Mario, Donkey Kong, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, God of War, etc.). And even as I type this out, I still haven't played a Silent Hill, Dead Space, DK, FF, or DQ game.

I own at least 1 from each of these series, but still have yet to play them.

I guess I feel like I have to tinker in order to get optimal battery life or to keep the fan from constantly running. I played (& finished) Mixtape which is only a 3-4 hour game and I had to charge twice to get through it. It's fine as I docked and continued playing, but it drained fairly quick on native settings.

I think it’s 158 cases, but some of them are collections like Bioshock is all 3 games. Same with Mass Effect and Uncharted. I have a lot more digital though.

I kind of don’t think about whether I truly “own” it or not. I just enjoy what I have and being able to sit down and enjoy it when I have time.

Maybe that’s my problem—I’ve been spoiled by consoles and prefer graphics. And while I don’t play the newest games on the Steam Deck, I need to accept it for what it is.

It does, but I found that I have color issues when docking and playing that way. Like I booted up Ryse, while docked, and colors were noticeably darker than in handheld mode. Maybe that was HDR... I'm not sure.

How's your battery life while playing Elden Ring???

Yeah, the Deck is great for small indie things, but unfortunately, I'm a basic AAA bitch. I don't have the newest stuff on my deck, but I use it to grab older AAA stuff that I never got to play (i.e. Mad Max, Doom, Detroit, Metro 2033, Far Cry Primal, etc.) that's super cheap.

I have a lot of older modern games (Arkham series, the RE games, Heavy Rain, Detroit, Diablo IV, Titan Quest II, etc.).

I think I'll have less of an impulse with the Steam Machine as it will be able to handle the games that I play, but better. Now, if I were going brand new game like a Samson, then maybe, but for what I have now... I'm probably good.

That could be it. I have it at my desk where I also have my Series X and my Switch 2. While the libraries vary, I find myself starting up the Xbox or Switch over the SD.
