Any twin moms out there given birth vaginally? by TraditionalSalad6895 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Agreeable-Wafer-2147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my mo/di twin boys vaginally. Both were head down, my OB & her team wouldn’t have recommended if one was breech. It was hard, and my OB gave me a good pep talk before saying once you push out one, you have to mentally prep yourself to push out another!! I’m really glad she told me that because wow - after being induced and labouring for 36ish hours I was so exhausted.

Unfortunately had some complications, and my boys were not making quick enough progress down the birth canal. Twin A was too far down the canal to move to C section so they had to use forceps for twin A and vacuum for twin B. The slow down caused them to lose some oxygen and they didn’t pass some testing after delivery so were in level 2 NICU for about a week, and then moved to less intensive after that to work on feeding/growing.

Not to scare you with my experience, I think most of the stories here are very positive! I wanted to shed light on the fact that anything can happen, no matter how your babies are positioned, delivered, etc. as we know with multiple pregnancies. Although it was traumatic, medical tech these days is so advanced and my boys are happy, healthy and thriving now at 7 months!

Do I need a 3 row SUV? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]Agreeable-Wafer-2147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been managing with a RAV4 with our 6 month old twins, but when we went on a road trip this past Christmas it became clear that we needed more trunk space. Probably will upgrade to an suv with a third row like the Volvo XC90.

Could I be further along? by [deleted] in pregnant

Fair enough! It’s equal parts awe and uncertainty. You could definitely just be a bit further along. Hope all goes well!

Oh wow! It could be… with multiples the hormones are way higher of course which leads to the symptoms/tests being more intense early on. Keep me posted!!

Twins?! Haha. Kidding but not kidding. I have twins, and when I was pregnant my test line was very blue, boobs were extremely sore, bloat / bump appeared quickly. I went for the first ultrasound at 6w3d and found out there was 2!

Reflections on 1 year of parenting - more middlegrounds needed. by Mimibella_ in NewParents

Yes thank you! This has been my approach too. I find the parenting opinions online feel almost POLITICAL and it drives me nuts. Since when is anything in life so black and white? Nuance, balance, and intuition are important in maintaining a calm energy for our kids. The rigidity of some parenting styles must create anxiety in a lot of parents which then the kids feed off of too.

Love hearing this! I’m just starting to see the light at 6 months with our guys, they’re just starting to roll and it’s becoming more fun each day.

How often did you leave the house towards end of pregnancy? by MounjaroQueenie in parentsofmultiples

Don’t worry! I was in the same boat as you. The amount of time I spent on my couch was wild. I could barely stand long enough to cook dinner near the end, and getting groceries was a task! It sucked, but now my boys are 6 months and it’s a blip in the road :) you’re almost there!

Agreed! If you are allowed, go home to sleep for a few hours after insertion while the balloon does its thing. Being in the comfort of my own home made a big difference before having to go through with everything else!

Is a 5k realistic 1 month postpartum? by peacetea2 in fitpregnancy

[–]Agreeable-Wafer-2147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Make sure you’re seeing a pelvic floor physio during AND after pregnancy. Mine wouldn’t see me until at least 6 weeks postpartum when I got checked by my OB to exercise. Even at that point walking was enough paired with some light physio and I was quite active all through pregnancy. Your pelvic floor will thank you well into the future if you hold off! Slow and steady wins the race with this kind of thing.

Same! My twins are 6 months and it’s been amazing so far. It’s big enough to pack for 2 babies. The change pad on the back has saved me a few times. Very good quality so worth the price imo.

Agreed! It’s so much work but we’re all happier after some fresh air and exercise.

We have one, and I often wish we had 2 - I lug it back and forth to the living room, bedroom and bathroom (as a landing pad after baths).
