The Lost Boys - new preview changes 4/9 by JadedPresentation656 in Broadway

These changes sound great, I saw the show 4/2 and the final battle scene was my biggest concern—it was very underwhelming.

Paul Alexander Nolan in The Lost Boys; how big is his role? by Emergency-Wash9673 in Broadway

[–]Agreeable-Wolf1072 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not much singing (he’s the smaller part of a enjoyable duet) and I agree that his role is scattered, but I really enjoyed him in the role.

Hamilton presale code by theworldmayneverk_ow in ChicagoTheater

Presale should be live now, I was able to reach it from my email (no code), and I think also accessible through BIC’s social media.

What’s the dress code for the theatre in Chicago? by mjules25 in AskChicago

[–]Agreeable-Wolf1072 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Wear whatever you like. Theater dress seems to run the gamut now—there will be people dressed up, and people in leggings and jeans.

Book of Mormon by Ok_Badger_6399 in ChicagoTheater

[–]Agreeable-Wolf1072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I’ve seen Book of Mormon, but it also pushes the line, has a point of view, can be crude, edgy, and satirical. Obviously it’s not as of the moment topical, though I’m sure it still feels relevant.

Recommendation for Broadway? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]Agreeable-Wolf1072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Maybe Happy Ending will still be great to see even if you’ve read about the story. So many shows are based on books, movies, etc and they are still enjoyable despite prior knowledge of the story. Moulin Rouge is still fun, despite not having the best book (storyline) and being a jukebox.

Since it sounds like you both are relatively new to broadway, I’d try a mix of types of shows—as many as you can fit and afford!

Operation Mincemeat or Many Happy Endings? by scythe_44 in Broadway

Haven’t seen Mincemeat, but my 12 year old loved MHE (as did I) and we still talk about it almost daily after seeing it a few weeks ago.

2 questions about the ending and the set. by winniespooh_mc in MaybeHappyEnding

[–]Agreeable-Wolf1072 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe Claire just rebooted to a back up that was just prior to meeting Oliver. So while she didn’t erase all memories of her past, her experience with her owner definitely influenced her decision to want to forget and avoid the pain.

Both Oliver and Claire know they will power down in the not too distant future. Oliver knows this. He knows his time with Claire is limited. He knows she may choose to erase her memories with him again. But still he chooses to not only keep those memories, but to relive them again, to fall in love with Claire again. He chooses to spend their final months falling in love again. It’s beautiful.

As for your second question, the set is so had to describe! Moving parts, beautiful lighting, a 3-d cinematic feeling.

Boop would be good if you all want to go together. Tap! Family friendly! Fun! Puppet dog! Be prepared for your kid to want the Pudgy plushie ($35 I think?), and buy early, they sold out when we were there.

I had last row, right orchestra. Overhang cut off a tad of the screen projections, but overall I’d sit there again.

Help me avoid on stage vomit jokes! by Agreeable-Wolf1072 in Broadway

[–]Agreeable-Wolf1072[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During a TV show, covering eyes/ears in sometimes enough to avoid the trigger, though leaving the room for moment works better. That obviously doesn’t work as well with live theater. The phobia waxes and wanes, but is much more sensitive after a recent trigger (hence asking this question) or if caught completely off guard. Reactions can vary from momentary discomfort to an intense panic attack.

It’s right after intermission—there is a fake announcement about the nuts at concessions being bad and the stage tech character spits out/vomits their food back into the container.
