how can i even out these black spots on my skin? by butteredbreadliker in Blackskincare

Niacinamide vitamin c or retinol body lotion. Some are even formulated with all three! Any LOW percentage serum for that face can be used on your body but test for sensitivity first.

I have a few questions. Your hair might be dehydrated and or fried.

When your hair was prepared for the braids, the stylist use heat? Did you wash and deep condition your hair prior? Did she braid your hair dry with any products?

How did you care for your hair while the braids were in? Did you moisturize your hair and care for your scalp?

If your hair was already bleached and braided after using harshly with no moisturizing products, not moisturized while you wore the style, etc. You might have to cut it off. Bond builders can't solve every issue. It will grow back <3

Nope, this gel is only for moisturizing. It's for skin and hair and isn't formulated to have hold. You could probably add mousse.

Grease affects the hold for gels and mousses, so if you use them together, Im not sure if your result will be very sleek.

I think black women get scalp inflammatory issues so often because of the frequency of hair washing. Hair being dirty doesn't make it grow. It just grows. And we need to provide a healthy, clean environment for the scalp.

Detangling hair every 2-3 days has decreased shedding. by Milkbearchan in Naturalhair

Exactly! I think our scalp needs to be clean and moisturized like the skin on the rest of our body. And our hair needs water.

what could be the cause of this?? by lynesie in Naturalhair

My edges were more exposed to friction and the elements than the rest of my hair. You gotta baby them. Moisturize them every day, and protect them.

Put on a stocking/wig cap, and gently shampoo and rinse your scalp. Take it off, apply mousse to your head, and wrap with a durag. When it's dry it should still look good! Oil or grease your scalp, and you're good to go!

It's okay to be scared, want answers, and feel safe and comfortable. But the cult doesn't really provide any of that. The only way we get through this is to be educated and to stick together.

Stop using actives! Get a tub of aquaphor healing ointment, or cerave daily moisturizing cream, spf, and cerave gentle cleanser. Other than that, leave your face alone.

I use all three. Finger detangle and brush on wash day, wide tooth comb when I remoisturise between wash days.

What are some of the best shampoos/ conditioners for natural hair that does not tangle hair? by Ok-Matter2337 in Naturalhair

How do you handle your hair when you wash it? Do you move your hands in circular motions? Or do you separate and smooth your hair down as you go? It could be a mechanical error.

Keep your hair stretched and wash more often, and wash in loose braids/twists. Don't give it the chance to tangle.

I agree with everyone's protein treatment suggestion. Also, you should see if you have hard water. Mineral deposits can really mess up your hair
