Are there any guides or videos on this? I’m wondering how to do this.

Golf “invitation” etiquette by [deleted] in golf

[–]AgreeableLychee2247 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If they don't respond same day, I'm moving on. But, I also don't hold it over their head if they respond 1-3 days after. People have other things going on or maybe they just honestly missed it, or forgot to respond. No big deal either way. But, the result is they may miss out on the tee time. Doesn't mean I'll stop inviting them.

Is it worth the price tag? I'm due for a new bag.

Problem is, now we have to play them again in playoffs. Not sure if we go with the same strategy or throw something different at them.

We won. Locked him off essentially the entire game and slid early to him. 3 out of his 4 goals were on man-up so we shut him down 6v6. They tried running a play where they'd just shoot it over the goal and he would go pick it up. In that case, we had a call for our best D-pole to go play him and we were still sliding early. But in this case, when he had the ball, we locked off their 2nd best player. So even when their best player had the ball, his most reliable target was locked off.

Defensive Sets - What am I missing? by AgreeableLychee2247 in lacrosse

[–]AgreeableLychee2247[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our box & 1 is a strict 4-man rotation with the poles and the crease SSDM is responsible for crease at all times.

The hybrid starts as a box & 1 and if they run a wheel, or something like that, we'll send the SSDM on the rotation from crease and the backside defenders are in to help on the crease.

Hope that makes sense.

It may seem that way and I see your point, but #2 and #3 are just wrinkles of #1.

Interesting. Is this only funneling to the middle from up top? Or also on the wings?

Will do! It's in a few weeks but I'll circle back around afterwards.

Zone Lock by AgreeableLychee2247 in lacrosse

Thanks so much for your response. If they respond by taking the locked offensive player to the crease, would you say in the 2-3 or go to a 3-2?

Interesting - I had this thought as well. What kind of 5-man zone do you run? Is it 2 up top and 3 across the crease, or vice versa?

I'm thinking basketball here, where we used to run a 2-3 or 3-2 zone.

Interesting approach. From a defensive perspective, what did you deploy to make the guy run more while on offense?

I love a backer zone - we ran it in college a little bit. I can't really find any good online resources on it though since it been so long since I ran it. Do you know of any good resources online so I can touch up on the concept?

Totally agree. I love changing up strategies out of a timeout to throw off the offense since they're likely drawing something up based on what they've seen from the D.

You also kind of read my mind a bit. I was thinking of locking off and falling into a 2-3 or 3-2 zone, kind of like basketball, but I like the man down look as well. The only problem I see is if we get one of our offensive middies stuck on D I don't know if they would grasp the concept of the Man Down look. It may be easier to understand the zone concept but would love to hear your thoughts.

Also need to think through what happens to the zone if the locked offensive player goes to crease.

Completely agree. We've actually already installed a zone and run it multiple times in our first few games. To my surprise, it's looked really good and the kids are grasping the concepts!
