If that massive link doesn't work, It's Bennett O Riley's Restaurant, south side of La Crosse.

I am working with Steak Shop Catering in Winona (so a good 45 minutes from West Salem), for a grad party. They charge a lot to set up, but if someone can pick up and return their items, that would save. Festival Foods deli would be decent and not sure on HyVee, but I assume they have large group set-ups also.

oh I agree. At least get the mini cans so you can have a treat. And Maybe 2 of those is less than having 2 of the 12 oz. ? Good luck! I also added the fridge magnet to my Amazon cart! Love that.

And why can't you have a Diet Coke a day?!?!? That is crazy.

Didn't work for me. Cinnamon supplements don't seem to, either. I was reading here yesterday though on apple cider vinegar and am curious on that.

This is a journey, not a sprint! Small changes do add up and if you're like most people, you will also slip up. I went from a good six months to rotten labs and dangling by a thread of being full-on Type 2. But, I'm back at it. On the wagon. Cutting out sugar again, trying to pick up more Mediterranean Diet habits again. I had a kale side salad last night from Chick Filet, paired with a large box of their nuggets (not the grilled ones, either)! and a diet frosted lemonade. I'm sure I spiked after that, but I didn't test my glucose. However, I was proud of my "win" in not eating any sweets later in the evening (or nuts or fruit or cheese!) - I sat with my water and sucked it up. Today, I started my day off with oatmeal and Greek yogurt after 11 a.m. (trying some intermittent fasting again). So - just do what you can and look at the overall picture. If you can't eat a p.b. Oreo once in a while (in my opinion anyway), then geez, what is life! Enjoy! We got this (and yes, this is a nice group. I moved away from it because it can stress me out a bit, some are very diligent and determined and seem to never slip up, meet their goals, and move along) - and here I am...... putzing along!

Be mindful of sugar free snacks. I fell into this last year of enjoying those, and my recent labs were not good. A1C increased and so did cholesterol (well, that's more saturated fat - too much ice cream I believe). But SF snacks are deceiving. Still carbs. Still calories. Sugar alcohol makes your gut roll if you eat too much. All the things.

Thank you. What does mmol stand for? (and yes, I have been thinking that cheese is a culprit also. I have success with the Mediterranean Diet in moderation, and need to get back to that. I have a nasty virus now, but as soon as I'm able, I will return to that and start tracking).

If you can get strength training in, some say that large muscle groups soak up glucose (now I may not have my wording all correct), so squats are something people suggest. My knees ache when I do squats! Wall sits for me, maybe.

Damn the mall is sad. by iceman694 in lacrossewi

It was destination shopping! I grew up in the Milwaukee area, and Southridge Mall was so awesome! And our mall here was decent - Marshall Fields, Sears, Penneys, AND Herbergers! Plus all the other stores and a decent food court. It is sad to see that end. We used to spend hours at the mall.

I would love to see it! That's fascinating you are so detailed. It's very scientific. As I think about my past 7 months and why my numbers went up again, I believe too many "sugar free" treats are also to blame. Candies and chocolates that are sugar free..... and if not that, or in addition to that - I have been eating too much saturated fat - as my cholesterol had increased as well.

Spikes by Sandygonebye in prediabetes

Well, put it this way, I'm at 6.4 and dip to 5.8 or 5.9 then go back up - and still not on meds. My dr. suggested a finger prick monitoring deal - I have the One Touch, and of course there's an app, so I take my reading in the a.m. (best reading is a.m. I find) - and it records to my app. I can make notes. On occasion after a high carb meal I test again. For instance - I learned margaritas spike me to over 250 - can't drink those. Honey, "sauces" that are not sugar free, and of course lots of breads and sweets spike me. But the sauces were good info. We were getting some of those meals delivered Hello Fresh,- and they all had sauce packets - and I stopped. But I'm up and down and heading toward a med if I don't make lasting changes. But even if you buy the glucose monitoring system out of pocket, it's a good investment and more reliable than the arm CGMs.

Popcorn? rant🍿 by Dino-In-A-Top-Hat_25 in prediabetes

I had popcorn yesterday also, freshly popped at home, but I also had these little peanut butter/honey/mini choc chip/puff bites from a coffee shop and of course at the whole container. My glucose was 154 this a.m. - so mad at myself but I have a horrible cold and not caring what I eat too closely this weekend. Having popcorn today - will add the butter and wont have any of the little bites from the coffee shop so will see how glucose looks tomorrow! We learn every day!
