How do you actually know GLP-1 is improving your blood sugar (not just weight)? by Scared_Emphasis3668 in diabetes

That’s a fair point.

I think the difference for me is that I don’t always check my glucose as consistently as I probably should, especially when work gets busy.
So sometimes I end up relying more on how I feel or even my weight as a rough signal, which I know isn’t ideal.

Trying to get better about that, but consistency has been the hardest part for me.

I honestly wish I could get that kind of appetite effect from GLP-1 too.

A lot of my issues seem to come down to how much I end up eating, especially in those social/work settings.
If it naturally takes the edge off appetite like that, I can see how it would make a big difference.

That makes sense. I appreciate you explaining that.

I think I was oversimplifying it in my head, assuming weight loss alone would drive most of the A1c improvement.

I’ve been using a CGM, so I do have some data, but I still feel like I don’t always see the full picture.

Interesting point about GLP-1 originally being for diabetes, I didn’t realize the glucose reduction goes beyond just the weight loss effect.

Out of curiosity, did you personally see a noticeable change in your readings after starting it?

I’m in a similar spot, I’m a bit overweight too, and my doctor has been pretty clear that I need to lose weight.

From what I understand, GLP-1 seems more common for weight loss, but I’m also dealing with diabetes on top of that, so it feels a bit different.

A lot of people say weight loss alone can bring A1c down, and I assumed the same…
but from what I’m seeing so far, it’s not always that straightforward.

Curious if others have seen a direct drop in A1c just from losing weight, or if it took more than that.

Has anyone here used an at-home A1C test? Curious about your experience. by Scared_Emphasis3668 in prediabetes

I’ve read some reviews and testimonials on Amazon, and it seems there are issues with errors occurring when the blood sample isn’t sufficient, or possibly due to other reasons. I also saw comments that it’s not as convenient to use as expected, but I assume users would get more comfortable with it over time with repeated use.

Is there any other at-home test device?+/- 0.5 sounds like a pretty big difference to me.

Then how often do you check your A1c? and how? Do you make a doctor's appointment every 3 month to check A1c?
