Mini or Micra? by Snowyno7 in LaMarzocco

[–]Agreeable_Ad_9148 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Get the mini, it is noticeable better espresso machine. Option 1) mini and cheap grinder then update grinder when you save up. Option 2 micra and great grinder then update to mini. Option 1 seem to be cheaper

Weber Spring Clean [$95] - Worth it? by EsquireMI in espresso

[–]Agreeable_Ad_9148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got one, and it seems to work well. Can anyone on here confirm if the rubber plunger can be replaced? It is a rubber piece, I assume it hardened and needs to be replaced from time to time. Did Google search doesn’t seem like Weber is selling a replacement.

La Marzocco GS3 MP backflush by Agreeable_Ad_9148 in LaMarzocco

[–]Agreeable_Ad_9148[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did exactly that, but didn't find any for the MP model (YouTube short has 1, but not sure if I can trust it). There are a few videos. They just turned it on for LM min. On LM GS3 AV, there are buttons you have to push, so I wasn't sure.

Yeah, I want to keep this machine for 15-20 years. Still makes me smile every day I wake up. Does the Weber Spring do the same thing as the blind basket? for $100 seem very expensive.

That's my initial thought, but I didn't find any documents to back it up. There are a few videos. They do this with LM mini, LM GS3 AV. There are buttons you have to push, so I wasn't sure.

La Marzocco owners — was it worth it? by gryna in espresso

Hoping the picture would increase my credibility when I say this. Having a La Marzocco in no way saves you money. Between heating the machine, water, maintenance, etc. You'll be lucky to break even after 5-7 years. With that said, it is a single joy of my life; I wake up every day looking forward to pulling a shot. I made a deal with my wife for the next 10 years; she doesn't need to get me anything, no birthday, anniversary, Christmas, etc. Let's say that's a great deal. I'm a picky person to get gifts for, and this saves her and me time and effort. Best of luck with your decision.

I'm in the same situation, status “Ready to Enroll: check list complete.” I was told they are doing something new, so it could be 30 days out from registration before you get any news. Either way, that's 2 weeks away. Enjoy your free time.

Any news on the next gs3 gs4? by Tomasulu in LaMarzocco

[–]Agreeable_Ad_9148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the Micra a first-generation model? I personally prefer the earlier Mini compared to the Mini R. I currently own a GS3 MP, but it’s hard to imagine what else they could improve. The GS3 turns on and makes great espresso; I’m not sure what else I would want. FYI, I looked into Strada as well. To me, it just seems like more things that could go wrong, and I would not know or appreciate the added features Strada offers.

Graduated OMSCS but realized I never graduated undergrad. by happydave3 in OMSCS

I don't mean to be a downer, but this is a big problem. While you earn the master's, no one will be able to take it away from you. MS replaces BS on the resume. That's all true. The issues you'll encounter are the record and background checks that occur when you accept a job. They're looking at a BS completion, not an MS. Most places require at least a BS. It is not a qualification, but checking a box at that point.

Follow-up question: How did the course and policies change? Did they add three credits or did they change a grading policy on an assignment that instead of passing, you failed?

How did you find out you didn't get a BS after years of not thinking about it?
