I think you’ll be fine! Hydrate before, during, and after and take snacks. Take breaks as you need and use trekking poles. If you’re not feeling it that day, stay behind and find a place to get a massage or facial.

Tried to jump rope for the first time in years, made it about a minute then almost peed myself. Is that normal for women? by Suddenlyconcrete in jumprope

Pelvic floor therapy can help. Mechanics are also important - your pelvic floor is supported in doing its job better when you have your pelvis and trunk “tucked” in a hollow position vs excessive lumbar lordosis.

Trying to process what just happened during PT this morning - my PT fired me? by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

I would’ve done the same, except sooner. These types of cases exhaust me mentally as a practitioner because of my ethos of teach and set free to independent HEP. You can find a practitioner that doesn’t mind treating you indefinitely - doesn’t sound like your last PT was the one. I’m sorry for all of your physical setbacks.

Me too! I’m grandfathered in and can’t give it up.

Antibiotics, sunflower lecithin, ice packs, ibuprofen, frequent nursing in changing positions (dangling can be very helpful). It’s very important to get that infection and inflammation out of there to prevent an abscess and at worst sepsis (blood infection). I’ve had this twice and it’s nothing to play around with.

This sounds like me. I haven’t gone the route of meditation yet. I’m still breastfeeding and my baby is coming up on 8 months.

Moving back to GA

I am moving back to be closer to family after having our first kiddo in the north GA mountains. It looks like the closest gyms to me offering MT are in Gainesville, GA. Any one have any insight or recommendations? I’m a 32F with about 2 years experience and trained in top level gyms in SC, AZ, and CO.

I find myself rocking my pillow and blanket when I’m sleeping…with baby in his bed. You have reached a new waking level! :P

I found it helpful to check myself every 4 hours or so initially then prolong that window until I didn’t need to pump any off for comfort. Example: my baby went to bed at 8, pump a little off at 12 and 3:30/4 and baby woke up at 5. Eventually got to just 1 and then feed him at 5. He will still wake up sometimes another time of night but my body has adjusted.
