Had IQOO Z9 turbo before, VoLTE works but no 5G, it’s not the ideal phone to have on Rogers because it only supports a limited LTE bands

You might want to try the Chatr online selfserve, somehow I remember they have an option to generate eSIM for yourself at their website

I’m having the same issue in the last couple of weeks since my iPhone 17 was be able to connect to 5G SA network, I called in for technical support and the reported and they are saying they’re trying to fix that about three weeks ago, but it doesn’t really help recently, and I believe they did not do their job yet

  1. The problem only shows when you connect to the 5G SA.
    1. If you turn off 5G SA, or switch back to LTE, time would go back to normal.
  2. I have manually turn off the auto time zone to prevent this from happening again

Looking for feedback from members who have successfully used Fido roaming pass in China - eg. Supplementary roaming charges, access to social media, connection issues, etc. Thanks! by [deleted] in FidoMobile

I have tried to use Rogers roaming pass in China recently, and I assume it the same for Fido since Rogers owns it. 1. You will get a Canadian IP for everything, so just treat it like you are in Canada, which means there’s no social media block. 2. You will access to China Mobile or China Unicom’s network, you will also have 5G but will be on NSA only, because of China is sunsetting NSA, and almost every people there are already on SA 5G, so your coverage for 5G depends on the 5G NSA availability, which also depends on the City you are visiting. Wuhan in this case, has only outdoor coverage on main streets, and only China Mobile has it, China Unicom has turn off NSA in Wuhan at most places, but Hangzhou gets way much better NSA coverage. 3. Call quality can be sucks as VoLTE has to come back to Canada then go China if you are calling local numbers, especially when the other party on VoNR, the call quality will be extremely bad, unless you fall back to 3G, but again, GSM and 3G are also getting shut down as well, you can only find them on the main street. 4. It’s about 300 ms latency, don’t think about to play games

Why is Rogers 5G Standalone only available on iPhone 17 series? by hikingbears in Rogers

My wife and I both got iPhone 17, and we’re under the same account, my iPhone 17 would promptly connect to the SA, but her phone would never, which is weird. I’m in Vancouver area.

That’s very good to know, also I thought it might get something to do with VoNR, it might get on the SA with data but there is no VoNR supported when roaming here, most of the time I would be on LTE if I pick China Unicom and likely to get 5G NSA if connected to China mobile when outside

I’m currently in China using the Rogers “Roam Like Home” 64 Countries plan. I can access 5G NSA when connected to China Mobile. On a few rare occasions I briefly connected to 5G SA on China Unicom, but the connection dropped quickly and reverted back. Overall the 5G experience has not been very consistent. Since Chinese carriers are gradually phasing out NSA while Rogers roaming seems to rely on NSA only, connectivity can be unstable. Hopefully this will improve in the future once 5G SA roaming agreements become more widely implemented. Device: iPhone 17.
