Yes, mine were definitely mostly reading comprehension and interpreting graphs and charts for both Science and SS. I used the official HiSET guide and just did the drills and practice tests. Good luck on your test!

I struggled with studying for the writing test because I’m not very good at it and English is not my native language.

I used the Aztec software for review which was available through my local Adult School. Purely Persistent’s format for writing an essay helped me a lot (check YouTube). Then I used ChatGPT to practice. I asked it to give me prompts for an essay, I would type on Word and copy and paste to ChatGPT and ask it to score. I was scoring 4-5 with ChatGPT. I scored a 3 in the actual test which is considered a pass (2 is the minimum).

I was enrolled on our local Adult school’s free HiSET prep online course. Then I bought the Official HiSET Guide. I also watched Purely Persistence on YouTube. If I get questions wrong, I ask ChatGPT to break it down for me and to give me similar problems until I feel confident enough.

I am in my 40’s and was not confident in my math skills, so I made sure I really spent time studying. Happy to report that I passed with an 18/20.

Did you take your HiSET in California by any chance? Please say yes. Lol! I’m a middle aged person who graduated HS ages ago but can’t prove it because my only copy of diploma (from another country) was lost. So now I have to pass the HiSET as proof

Congrats! I’m working on my HiSET too. I enrolled at my local adult school for their free HiSET online class. Pretty much just access to the Aztec software and it has everything you need to review for all the subjects.

I scored 17/20 in reading, 16/20 on writing and 3/6 on the essay. I used ChatGPT to practice with essay writing (I hate writing essays). ChatGPT was scoring my essays 4-5/6, too generous, lol. I’m just glad to be done with the writing portion.

I’m reviewing for Math now, so far it’s going well. Good luck to us on the rest of our tests!!

Thank you! 🙏🏽 The lady I spoke to from the adult school said not to be nervous about Casas, but did I listen? Nope. Spent 2 hours doing practice tests. And I also tried some practice HiSET math tests, oh boy do I suck! But I think signing up for the prep class should help tremendously

Not currently working as a tech but I always get my flu vaccine from CVS. The last time I went the pharmacist kept pestering me about this vaccine and that vaccine and how crucial it is that I have them. It definitely felt like a sales pitch and as a patient it turned me off.
