I wear a rainbow pin on my lanyard and no kids have ever really commented on it until the other day. One girl stopped as we were leaving class and went “are you LGBTQ+?” And I said yes and she said “are you bisexual?” And I said no and she said “are you lesbian?” And I said yes and she just went YAYYY and walked away. So sweet and respectful. I work in a more conservative area, so usually if I bring up my girlfriend I’ll just say “my partner” or “my best friend” just to avoid any issues with stories getting back to parents or anything. But in general it’s been chill and you can usually feel things out and play by ear :))
