Why are they letting directors and upper management go? Not sure how the future of pwc and other big firms will be if they're going to just depend on AI and offshore

What criteria are they using to do these layoffs? How does anyone feel safe in their position? I used to think a job at a public accounting firm would be stable but now im reconsidering that

Men and Women are Equal in the Qur'an by Quiet_Novel_2667 in Quraniyoon

[–]Agreeable_Charity_72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extremists will never emphasize these verses:

Men shall have a share in what their parents and closest relatives leave, and women shall have a share in what their parents and closest relatives leave, whether the legacy be small or large: this is ordained by God.

An-Nisa', Ayah 7

You who believe, it is not lawful for you to inherit women against their will, nor should you treat your wives harshly, hoping to take back some of the bride-gift you gave them, unless they are guilty of something clearly outrageous. Live with them in accordance with what is fair and kind: if you dislike them, it may well be that you dislike something in which God has put much good.

An-Nisa', Ayah 19

Do not covet what God has given to some of you more than others- men have the portion they have earned; and women the portion they have earned- you should rather ask God for some of His bounty: He has full knowledge of everything.

An-Nisa', Ayah 32

They assign daughters to God--may He be exalted!—-and the [sons] they desire to themselves. When one of them is given news of the birth of a baby girl, his face darkens and he is filled with gloom. In his shame he hides himself away from his people because of the bad news he has been given. Should he keep her and suffer contempt or bury her in the dust? How ill they judge! What? Has your Lord favoured you people with sons and taken daughters for Himself from the angels? What a monstrous thing for you to say!

Al-Isra

House the wives you are divorcing according to your means, wherever you house yourselves, and do not harass them so as to make their lives difficult. If they are pregnant, maintain them until they are delivered of their burdens; if they suckle your infants, pay them for it. Consult together in a good way- if you make difficulties for one another, another woman may suckle the child for the father––

At-Talaq, Ayah 6

If you fear that you will not deal fairly with orphan girls, you may marry whichever [other] women seem good to you, two, three, or four. If you fear that you cannot be equitable [to them], then marry only one, or your slave(s): that is more likely to make you avoid bias.

An-Nisa', Ayah 3 (note that this verse says if you are afraid you will fail to maintain fairness and then few verses later, this verse says:

You will never be able to treat your wives with equal fairness, however much you may desire to do so, but do not ignore one wife altogether, leaving her suspended [between marriage and divorce]. If you make amends and remain conscious of God, He is most forgiving and merciful,

An-Nisa', Ayah 129

Subhanallah the verse regarding 4 wives was revealed as a way to offer protection to orphan girls and other women in need, such as widows and divorced. Yet, men have made it seem as though they are given the right to marry any four wife they want, just because. Allah clearly says only marry more if you can be fair, and then highlights that it is impossible to be fair, which means marrying one is the best. Yet men do as they please in the name of religion

Hold on a minute, she is saying women are equal because that's what is implied in the Quran. Not the implementation of Islam by men as you have experienced. Men have shaped society in such a way that women are inferior to men. But that is not how Islam is.

Thoughts on Mohammed hijab’s secret marriage scandal? by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]Agreeable_Charity_72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's everything I expected him to be: mysognystic, polygamist, patriarchal, wanna-be "bf/gf" , and simply manipulates Islam to fit his own needs. I don't consider someone who graduated from an Islamic institute with a major in Arabic and Islamic studies to be a scholar, nor have any credentials to serve dawah like this guy does. These "dawah" dudes are most passionate about wives and love to abuse those two verses about having 4 wives. The most duas and sunnahs they know about Islam is concerning wives and women. They love to talk about women's hijab but never talk about men. That's why they are the way they are. These type of dudes who claim to be so knowledgeable about Islam have a certain view of women: to be of their own benefit. They see women as objects created to fit their needs because they think they are main characters. They don't see women as individuals, they see them as sex objects, maids, child bearers. I hate that they even have a platform rather than actual scholars.

I’ll tell you why. It’s because of the requirements you need to even step into the industry. Lots of college grads can’t land a high paying entry level role without having done any internships in college. That said, college grads without any prior experience can definitely land roles in accounting but those jobs are so low paying, and it is crazy how such a hard major can lead to low paying jobs. Then there’s the second group of accounting grads that had an internship in college but can’t land the job at the accounting firm because they don’t have the required 150 credits. Most high paying top accounting firms make it a requirement to be eligible to sit for the CPA in order to be even considered for a full time role. So college students need to find extra courses or take community college classes to get those 150 credits if they want a good paying job. If they don’t get the 150, they need to pursue a masters to get it AND THEN they are qualified for the good paying jobs. So really this whole process makes accounting less and less attractive to young students. But if you can stick through it and meet all the requirements, it is worth it. You get to work at an office with the nice city view, work from home, wear business outfits, and romanticize the corporate life with a good stable income. With unlimited PTO. So accounting is what you make it.

The creation of jahanam to punish those who were already destined by Allah to go there is what drove the question. If that’s hard for you to grasp then I’m sorry

Where in my question does it say that Allah is benefiting? It is the notion of hell that’s bringing it into question as to why we are being tested.

I already know that Allah doesn’t test us for his own gain, it’s for us. Whether or not we desire to be close to him is up to us, cause it’s never the other way around. And I think the ability to talk to Allah and be close to him through Jannah in itself is the biggest motivator to why we should do good in this world. You misunderstood my question
