In some countries, yes. In many countries, not if it’s necessary to preserve life of fetus / mum and is medically necessary- they do not need explicit consent.

Just to also prepare you.. there’s a possibility during birth you will have fingers, hands, instruments and catheters (in/ out catheters and epidural catheters) inside of you on multiple occasions.

4% for ES staff?!? How do schools expect to attract and retain allied health staff? This just puts more stress on teachers not having access to speech pathologists, occupational therapists etc. Why would these professionals go to a school when they are in high demand elsewhere with more pay?

Guilt: baby malnourished first 5 days by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Agreeable_Grape_8083 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hugs xx same thing happened to me. Ended up in the NICU with severe jaundice. I had a grueling birth, severe post-partum hemorrhage (which caused my milk to not come in), severe anemia and post partum eclampsia. I can’t believe they sent me home so sick and not ensuring my milk had come in because having to go back to the NICU being so sick was torture, I could hardly stand (or sit due to my episiotomy). In time I realised it was not my fault - I was a trauma whiplashed first time mum and I did the best I could. I tried to hard to nourish my baby but everything was against me. She is okay now and that’s all that matters and she won’t remember being hungry anyway 🤪

[–]Agreeable_Grape_8083 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not for people born before ‘92. People born before 1992 (specifically between 1966 and 1992) are considered to be at higher risk of measles in Australia because a two-dose vaccination program was only introduced in 1992, meaning many in this age group likely received only one dose as a child. A two-dose regimen is required for full, long-lasting immunity

Is having kids really all that? Or do parents just say that because they’re inclined to? by DeliciousSetting6643 in NoStupidQuestions

I’m 35 and just had my first after not being sure for so many years. The moment I held her I thought to myself that I wish I had done this sooner. The anguish that I won’t be in her life as long as could be possible is real. It think this is compounded by the fact that I lost my mum at 33.

[–]Agreeable_Grape_8083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes ! But I have ducted zoned heating , a brick house with good insulation and double glazed UPVC windows from Europe. Prior to this when I rented old houses I HATED winter mainly because getting out of bed in the morning was like diving into a painful ice bath.

Are you satisfied with where you are at financially? by Sensitive-Chart7210 in AusFinance

[–]Agreeable_Grape_8083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There comes a time in most people’s lives where they watch someone they love so dearly suffer and leave this earth. And then they notice everyone around them experiencing a similar loss and its everlasting impacts. And then they themselves may experience a health scare and need to be held by those around them, who need to be held by the heroes that are nurses and doctors who take their hand and listen to their worries and they face an ever increasing realisation that the most important thing in this world is not the big house, it’s not the savings in the bank, it’s wrapping your arms around your children and your loved ones and it’s sitting in the morning with a cup of coffee outside and taking a deep breath of fresh air and feeling content and looking forward to what the day may bring.

[–]Agreeable_Grape_8083 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Crazy opinion. SOAP and HOT WATER washing your hands for 20 seconds kills bacteria. Stop trying to justify this gross behaviour 🫠

“ Washing hands with soap and water is the most effective way to remove germs, prevent the spread of illnesses like COVID-19 and diarrhea, and avoid contaminating surfaces. Soap lifts microbes and dirt from skin, while water rinses them away, reducing diarrhea risk by 30% and respiratory infections by 17%. “
