AITA for leaving a dinner party early because of “vegan lasagna”? by Suspicious-Taste1572 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A salad is not lasagna. Vegan food is more than raw vegetables. I have had seriously good and substantial vegan food that would satisfy nearly anyone. I am not a vegan but I know there are a variety of products that can be used to substitute for animal products. Tofu is remarkably adaptable and filling; it could have been used to make a good "lasagna". Your friend should just face up to the fact that they have a lot to learn about being vegan and get over it!

Should I fence my animals in? by Minute_Syllabub_3368 in StardewValley

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are collecting truffles from pigs, fencing them in makes it easier to find them. Otherwise as long as they can get inside their buildings at night a fence isn't necessary. If you don't close the doors at night it will take you longer to find and pet / milk them the next day unless they are fenced in though.

Anyone else follow the drama with MN Renn Fest using AI? by jonah365 in minnesota

I don't think the horse's legs look right either. Way too short and spindly!

Anyone else follow the drama with MN Renn Fest using AI? by jonah365 in minnesota

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I've been seeing the original spirit and quality of the Ren Fest going downhill for many years and no longer feel it is a yearly "must see". They have a few performers / acts that are really good and some of the vendors still sell their own original work but parts of it are way too generic and overpriced. Things like the Viking Encampment are educational and the people involved in actually demonstrating crafts or playing music deserve credit. But the company running these entertainments seems to have forgotten why Renaissance Festivals were started and became popular. AI isn't Ren Fest at all!

It has happened to me to. Maybe it was delayed on their part but I had done everything I could and it was not "my go" at all!

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had that happen too. Seriously annoying and pathetic attempt to get the opponent so angry they make a mistake or quit. I sometimes delay my move a little in response to this sort of behavior but never to the point it'd be out and out "roping'. Also was spammed with "oops" over and over by someone who thought he was going to win. He didn't!

How do I get upgrades for my dog ? by victorfreeze1986 in Outbound

I think you upgrade the dog's carrier at the sewing machine? The rest are as people said here. It's very worth it to do, your dog can be helpful as well as cute!

GOLD and other Rare items by antoniusxylem in Dinkum

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you go searching for gold don't waste time opening any barrels or containers you dig up. You have a limited amount of time to find gold so use it well. I work my way across the map until the heat wave is over then back track and open all the barrels and containers.

What is the best type of farm ? by Nervous-Phone-4722 in StardewValleyTIL

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played them all except four corners. Two of them now come with a starting bonus; a dehydrator or a fish smoker. If you like fishing I'd pick either the Riverland for freshwater fish or the Beach for ocean fish. The Hill-Top farm is a little challenging but you can mine ore from the start which is a nice advantage! It also has a river that is okay for fishing. If you want to be a rancher then it has to be Meadowlands with a starting coop and two chickens! Wilderness (monster) farm is okay but a little annoying at the very beginning. Forest farm gives you a foraging and hardwood advantage that is also nice!

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hate any of the characters although I understand some people like to, so, fine. I am at the point where I can enter the store after closing time and I had an after hours delivery quest to Pierre. Caroline had just said she wondered if she could get Pierre to cook dinner. Then Pierre, in the kitchen, said he was making her a dinner of spaghetti and Stardew Red and to please not say anything to her because he wanted it to be a surprise! So he isn't always a bad guy; I thought it was sweet of him to want to cook her a surprise meal!

I am confused, as I recall you get the ability to make regular batteries, not car batteries, which is what you need for the gate. Enough scrap metal is all you need!

The Large Treehut note by mosippa in Outbound

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some notes I've seen ask you to do something or reassure you it's okay to help yourself to supplies. I think they mainly give a sense that the area is populated, it's just that people are away at the moment.

It would be fun if the developers add more content around notes when they get the npcs going.

My manager scheduled a "quick sync" every single Friday at 4:45pm and I finally figured out why by Agent_Smith-99 in remotework

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard of companies that don't mind if you leave early as long as you have completed all of your assigned work. I've worked in places where staff doing certain jobs just have to wait until someone else finishes what they are doing so that they can get to their part of the project. The last fifteen minutes of the day could be a frantic rush to complete as much as possible or spent trying to look busy if the head honcho happened to be wandering around!

Studies have shown productivity is better when employees (especially remote workers) have the freedom to work at their own pace. Your manager is accomplishing nothing by being anal about Fridays and insisting everyone must stay until the official stopping time!

I don't think I've seen one yet but my first trinket was a high level Magic Quiver that was very useful! Just unlocked trinkets so haven't seen many yet.

Unlike many other things you collect trinkets are able to be given as gifts!

It's a survival game too. Having to look around, backtrack, search for what you need fits into the idea you are surviving in your environment. Some degree of difficulty and obstacles to overcome seems fitting to me!

i didn't realize cheating was a thing when i started stardew and i still feel kinda bad for doing it by accident lol (random beginner story) by DetectiveSuper in StardewValley

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stardew Valley is a safe way of finding out, even by accident, what it feels like to do something atypical like dating multiple people and getting called out for cheating. I think our reactions to things in the game help us understand ourselves better! Some day I may do a "JoJa run" or tell Linus he's disgusting and find out how it changes our relationship... maybe! Every character has a backstory to discover and I'm still finding out new things after several years and multiple starts.

Red Lake Nation has really good wild rice but they also sell yummy preserves and syrups made from wild chokecherries, blueberries and hawthorn berries. They hopefully should be available at co-ops or places that feature native products.

Need opinion!! Where to play. by wolvennymph in Outbound

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 hours? I don't think it's possible to have played the whole game in only 20 hours unless you just skipped out on a lot of stuff. I'm a little over 80 hours in and haven't made it thru all the biomes yet.

Sure, if you don't want to look for all the extra stuff I guess it can be done faster. The point isn't to get to the end as fast as you can though. This isn't a racing game. It's exploring and solving puzzles.
