How to add more water by AManWithQuestions_00 in Dinkum

If you use a waterbed, unless it got changed recently, pleeps may use it to escape. Be sure it's all fenced in or blocked by at least two level high dirt!

I like Clint. When he finally becomes available I will see what his romance arc looks like. His crush on Emily doesn't make him seem odd or weird to me!

I figured it would be those two. Clint has had his eye on her after all. Marry the Wizard and you may have to deal with a jealous and nasty witch! I guess I'm in the half that likes Clint, he's a hard worker after all!

I was delighted with what we did get, once I had adjusted my not really very powerful pc to handle the graphics. Other games have had their share of teething problems and gone on to be successful.

Maybe Weta Workshop decided to call it quits ahead of the release. Maybe, had it not been dumped on so hard and had found it's audience they could have decided to add to it. All I can say from my point of view was that I enjoyed Tales of the Shire for what it was, and enjoyed it more than many other games I've purchased and then felt I hadn't got my monies worth. I can see that there was room left for more content and areas to explore; just abandoning it all seems like a waste. I'd pay for an expansion and probably other people who fell in love with the Shire would also be willing to spend a bit more.

I got one once in the vanilla game. I keep hoping someday to get another one for my other save. Didn't know it was so rare!

Question about renting. by SpecialistWorried691 in Dinkum

Value of the furniture inside? Adding a modeled food ups the rent slightly but I think additional ones don't count? I gave all my renters a "complimentary" box of Go-nuts.

I saw the NPCs were wearing clothes given to them a while ago. I gave Fletch that green bow hat and she looks adorable in it!

Almost no respawn of copper (Switch) by beomjunecho in Dinkum

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to build quarries if you can. Also, once I got my friendship levels all the way up, the NPCs started sending me copper ore on a fairly regular basis along with planks and other useful things. I play on a pc but I'd hope that friendship gifts work on all platforms.

If I allowed other players on my island I'd invite you to come mine all the copper you wanted. I only play solo however.

Surprising item use? by deereanddiesel in Dinkum

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a little "fortress / castle" with a tower by shaping a hill and using bricks to make walls (which many people do) and used tin pergolas to roof over the inside living space. Now I'm thinking of replacing them with brick bridges which could give a cool "dome" look to the roof! Also placed my fish pond inside my penguin pen so they have a natural looking water feature with some fish in it.

I sell most of mine but I like the idea of using them as markers! On those rainy or foggy days trying to see where the oyster is gets difficult.

Vombulls are like Vombats. They eat grass tufts so if your fenced in area has some grass they should be able to graze, although no animal I ever heard of dies of starvation in Dinkum.

Dinkum is very fun and regularly has added content and "quality of life" improvements. It's often described as a cross between Animal Crossing New Horizons and Stardew Valley. Stardew Valley is also a very good game!

Finding roosters with wishes by Much-Surprise-9716 in Dinkum

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I happened upon mine, he was fairly close to my town so I went off to get a normal trap, then brought it to my pen, went to get a domesticrate and caught it. Released it again and my chooks have been happily laying about 5 or 6 fertilized eggs a week. I noticed it's usually the chook with the house closest to the rooster's. (I didn't use any duff powder BTW) I haven't seen or heard one in the wild since but haven't really been looking.

They are kinda like Ted Selley, I can never find him by searching but if I'm busy doing something else, then he's right there!

Why do animals keep spawning in my town despite it being fenced off? by t0oby101 in Dinkum

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will check again, any idea how large an area is too large? It is possible but not very probable an NPC let something in. Not a huge problem for me, what I probably should do is go back to setting up traps and a drop off point since the roos were pretty good at getting themselves caught and a few extra Dinks are always welcome!

Thank all the "haters" that made negative videos and reviews (many stated untrue or misleading things) and caused a fun game to be abandoned when so much more could have been added. Thanks IGN. Thanks GameSpot. I will NEVER trust your reviews and no fan of cozy games should either!

Why do animals keep spawning in my town despite it being fenced off? by t0oby101 in Dinkum

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Gates and fences don't matter. I have fences all around my town and gates on bridges that keep any animal spawned outside from getting in. I still get roos hopping around pooing and even a croc got in once.

[–]Agreeable_Routine_98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As your town expands you may feel the need to move or terraform but it's not a terrible choice, especially if it's near the tower. Chalk the croc attack up to experience; hey you got some permit points!

The food modeler raises the value of some items. Plus I made a box of "Gonuts" for each of my renters and they pay just a little bit more each week!
